Finding her

~ Chapter 26 ~

April's POV

I looked down at my beautiful baby girl. She's the only thing keeping me strong, apart from my mate. My eyes filled up with tears, I had gotten used to them over the months which I had been away from him. I looked across the room, I still couldn't believe that she could be my mate's twin sister, even though she looked so much like him. I looked at her blooded arms, bruised face and dirty hair. I hate the Alpha who had done this to her. I could smell him on her and it took everything in me to not throw up, he was the monster that tore my family apart without even glancing back. I knew that my mate had tried to save me, I felt the pain he went through whenever they caught him.

"...no that's my starfish, get your own..." Chloe mumbled. I laughed quietly at her. She reminded me so much of Ashton it was unreal.

Before she passed out from pain, I had found out a lot about her. She had five brothers, including Ashton. She is a triplet; Ashton and James being her twins. She's sixteen and has a mate called Trey who is the future Alpha of the Newmoon Creak, making her future Alpha Female. She told me about some of the pranks she had done. After a while she asked if she could hold Anna, when I gave Anna to her she literally cried.

~ FLASHBACK ~

"Um... can I hold her?" She asked shyly. I was taken back for a minute. She never seemed to be the shy type.

I smiled encouraging her, "Yeah sure," She smiled back at me. I handed her Anna and watched as she traced her small face with her finger. She smiled down at her when Anna gurgled. I laughed, I loved when she did that it created butterflies in my stomach. I looked back at Chloe when I heard her sniffing making me frown in confusion.

"A-are you ok?" I asked her with concern. She laughed a little and shook her head wiping her tears.

"Yeah... don't mind me I'm just being silly, she's just so beautiful." She told me with a smile. She was looking at my baby girl with awe, my smile grew at this. I watched as Chloe put her little finger in Anna's hand and laughed when she curled her little fist around it. I laughed quietly too. This is probably the first different face she had seen since Ashton left. The pang of pain erupted inside, but I did my best to cover it up.

"Hi there, I'm your Auntie Chloe, but you can call me Chlo and I'm going to call you princess. Hehe... you like that yeah? Yes you do." Chloe blew raspberries on her little stomach while she said the last bit making Anna squirm and giggle in her arms. I laughed when Anna slapped her. Chloe scowled and then faked hurt.

"Oh princess you hurt Chloe." She said with mock sadness. I watched in awe as Anna stopped her squirming and took Chloe's face in her little chubby hands. She opened her big teal coloured eyes and stared into Chloe's. I watched as Chloe's eyes widened as she looked into them, it was the same for me too, I was fascinated at the colour of her eyes. Anna gurgled something and then took her hands off her face.

"Her eyes... wow," Chloe said still staring at them, I laughed at her amazed face. When she was born she had green eyes whereas every other baby is born with blue eyes. I remembered the frown on the nurse's face as she looked into them. I blinked pushing that memory away.

"April?" Chloe said making me look at her. "Here hold her, I'm feeling sleepy." I took my baby girl out of her arms and cuddled with her. I breathed in her scent and exhaled quietly. She had mine, hers and Ashton's scent mixed with lavender. I closed my eyes as her little chubby hand stroked my cheek. She knew this calmed me down somehow, smiling into her neck I kissed it. I pulled her away and saw Chloe smiling at us. I smiled back and watched as she tried to get comfy on the hard floor, before falling asleep.
