Chapter Eight

Ariella could feel his lips on her cheek, when she woke up in the morning. She remembered his smell what she was dancing with him, like sweet grass.

She wondered how his hair felt when her fingers would go through it.

“Ariella?” ask Lavin, towering above her bed. “Are you alive?”

Ariella groaned. “Mm-hmm.”

“Come on, we have to clean the bathrooms. Plus, we have to dust some of the guest rooms today.”

“Why?”  She asked, lifting her head the pillow imprint on her cheek.

“Mrs. Nora Lynnette; Rosha’s mother is coming to visit next week; they want to make sure everything is how it should be.”

“I thought people weren’t aloud to visit.” She said sitting up, sleep wearing off .

“Friends, Ariella. This is her mother, she has the right to visit during the pregnancy.”

“So, only her mother is coming?”

“Yes.”

Her heart calmed down in her chest, and she laid back. “Fine, I’ll be there in a second.”

The worst thing about these doors is that nothing looked different from the others. It all looked the same! While she had learned where Petra’s room was, that was to only other room she would go into and cleaned.

Still, she knew most of these rooms were for visitors. She would peek and if it had the décor of a visitor’s room then she would go inside and clean it.

She found it weird that there were so many pictures of Deyes in one of them; some with Blake and others with their whole family.

There was a soft rustling sound coming from the closet, making Ariella cock her head to the side in curiously. She walked to the closet, slowly, and-

“Spying on me already and we haven’t even been on a first date.” said Deyes entering the room, with a towel around his waist.

Ariella jumped, turning slightly then noticing his attire she tried not to look at him, only seeing white and tan in her peripheral vision. “I’m sorry, sir. I thought this was a guest bedroom.”

She could hear him smile.

“I’ll go now. S-sorry.” She said, trying to walk by him but he caught her softly by the arm.

“Can you get me…some ham sandwiches with mayonnaise?”

“Yes, sir.” She said, staring at the floor.

“Can you look at me in the face and say that?”

She closed her eyes, avoiding his body looked at his face; those great blue starburst eyes hitting her in the chest. “Yes, sir.” She said, biting her lip.

He smiled, his eyes on her lips then back at her and let go of her arm, than she turned away. She could feel his eyes on her back as she disappeared out the door.

He walked out to make sure she was gone and went to the closet, taking out his clothes. “That was close, wasn’t it?”

The little girl nodded, shaking huddled to the corner.
