The Rise of Chapter Nine
J A C K F R O S T
Jack knew what it was but he didn't enjoy it. He didn't want to know who the girl in the past was because the girl he's with right now was being taken away from him. What could he do? Absolutely nothing but watch...
It was a clear, summer day. Jack was lying down underneath the shadow of a big tree on a hill overlooking the village, Elsa look-alike next to him. They were having a picnic. Jack's sister was playing with the other children. Elsa look-alike was watching them.
"Do you want to have kids, Jack?" Jack sat up and looked at her. She was smiling faintly, watching as the children laughed and played. Jack didn't know why she asked that kind of thing but he answered anyway.
"Yeah, I guess." Jack scratched the back of his head, embarrased. "What about you, then?"
She hugged her knees. "No, not really." This took Jack by surprise.
"Why?"
"I don't know. I just do. I mean, I really like looking after them but I don't want to have them, you know? There's a difference Jack."
"But they're all children with the same smiles and laughs. You're bound to love them with all the sunshine they bring to adults' lives."
She shrugged. "But to be honest, having babies or children never really crossed my mind. I just thought of how...they really affect...the snow..."
"Snow?" It was still summer but winter always comes fast. This girl, for some reason, really likes winter (Jack knows that but he doesn't see why since this was his human memory) but he can' t see why snow and children are connected.
The girl avoided his gaze. He tried to see what expression he has right now, be it embarrased, relieved or happy. Jack was shocked when he saw something completely different.
Her eyes purple, her hair more white than blonde and skin paler than usual...Jack thought something was wrong. And it seriously creeped him out. "Are you alright...?" He still couldn't remember her name.
At once, the girl turned normal. Hair now blonde, skin still ivory pale and eyes with the bluish blue tint ever. She stood up, stretching, then looked at Jack.
"I'll see you later then, Jack." She continued to walk down the hill. Jack had the urge to go after her. Well, he was about to when the girl looked back.
She had those dark features again...like the rumored Snow Queen.
"El-" Jack cried out.
Then he woke up. He woke up, panting and gasping for air like it was beaten out of him. He was even more surprised when he saw Elsa's face up close, like she was intentionally leaning over.
"Are you alright Jack?" Elsa asked. Jack winced. For some reason, he sensed that something was really wrong.
"Uh, nothing..." He replied. He cringed away from Elsa who was beside him. He noticed his reflection. He still had white hair but...he was feeling cold. And he doesn't know why.
He studied Elsa, who had a small smile on her lips. She turned away, blushing, and it had Jack confused.
"What happened?" He asked, standing up.
Elsa stood up too. "I chased them away." She said quietly.
"Really? What did you do? What happened to Pitch?"
