The Frozen Chapter Fourteen

P R I N C E  H AN S

"Prince Hans?"

"You know, the boy with the...red cloak?"

"No, that's the second oldest son!"

"Oh, he's the one with great horse riding skills!"

"No, Wrong again! I think that's the seventh oldest son!"

Prince Hans is the youngest and 13th prince of the Southern Isles. With 12 brothers, he is sure that he can never inherit the throne even if he arrange multiple accidents for his brothers.

"I'm very sorry, your Majesty, but Prince Hans cannot pass his linguistics exam. I request another retake, Your Highness, if that is alright."

He was the failure. The lowest one. The Invisible Prince.

He remembered the times that he would march to the throne room to get scolded yet again by his parents, his brothers all around him. He knew he was hated. He knew that his brothers scorned him.

He tried to strive higher. To be more prince-like and perfect than his brothers. Where did that end up? A complete humiliation thrown back in his face. He wasn't exactly the best in fencing, so sword fights are meager to him. He also wasn't the best in terms of intellect. In the end, three of his brothers ignored him. Like he didn't exist at all.

That's why he stopped trying. And for that, his brothers grew comfortable. But that doesn't mean that the three brothers already acknowledge him. Over the years, those three brothers, the princes closest in line to the throne, continued to live in the castle acknowledging only nine brothers. Excluding the thirteenth prince.

Little prince Hans never had any close friend inside the palace. Even with their parents' love and influence, Hans was never just contented with their land, the Southern Isles. He wanted to expand his possibilities and his name even further. That's why he started travelling.

He sailed the best ships their kingdom could provide and made relationships with other lands, giving him a bit of leverage on the outside.

He was also quite a playboy.

Well not much, but many did fall for that face and personality of his. Not to mention his good boy act. Ladies fell heads over heels for him.

Especially the Princess of Arendelle, Anna.

His original goal was the soon-to-be crowned queen, Elsa. He had that charm to older women but for some reason, the queen hasn't took as much as a glance at him. So he moved on to the younger princess.

She was quite a catch but she was so inexperience and so gullible. He had her fell for him hard in a matter of hours. His best record so far! That happens when people, especially girls, are so desperate for love. Anyone can come into your life, and you can just call him your one true love.

Bleh.

"Oh, Hans, if only there was someone out there who loved you." His mother used to say as she fixed his outfit. Little Prince Hans never understood his mother's intentions by saying that to him but as he grow older, he did. The terrifying truth is, his mother and father never truly loved him. He was just a mistake. A miscalculation on their part. Why?

All because he is their 13th son. In the kingdom of the southern Isles, one must never use the number 13 for it attracts danger and despair. And Hans is portrayed as the living embodiment of disaster for the kingdom.
