I sat down after I adjusted the canoe so it stays straight and open up my rations and ate a banana.
As I bite through the banana, I feel a rock on the boat and look back. I see a familiar hawk, and then it shapeshifts into Maui.
"Hey curly," He smiles.
"Maui!" I jump right into his arms and kiss I passionately, holding onto his neck like it's my lifeline.
"I thought you'd never come back!" I sob, clutching onto his hair and kissing him all over his face.
"You thought wrong, princess," he smiles and kisses me again. "What are you doing out here anyway?" He asks.
"You probably know about the ancient prophecy, Kahõkū?" He nods, "well, he's awoken. And he's going to destroy all life. The first part of his awakening was an earthquake." I lift up my skirt to show the giant scar on my thigh. Maui gasps and examines it further.
"How did this happen?" He asks, looking up at me.
"An earthquake hit a few weeks ago, and my roof caved in. I kinda got impaled by a wooden beam. I'm okay now," I say. I see Maui's expression, and it tears my heart apart. His eyes are brimmed with tears.
"I should have been there," he says, "I could have protected you." I tear rolls down his face and I put my palm to his face and wipe a tear.
"You didn't know. No one can know when these things are gonna happen," I look at his face, and I lightly kiss him on the lips, "it's okay." I hug him and rub my hand through his hair.
"Thanks Moana," he sighs, "but I still could have protected you. I could have done something."
I smile and kiss him again. It feels good to have him back, I think.
"Do you wanna defeat Kahõkū together?" I ask, smiling like an idiot.
"There is nothing I'd rather do," he says, and we kiss again.

So I'm thinking on weekdays I'll post one chapter and maybe two depending on school and stuff. Anyway, I know this sounds super corny but I would like to thank all people who voted for my story. I'm super stoked that it's got 400+ reads even though this is my first ever story on Wattpad and I've barely been a member for a week. I'm also super grateful for all the positive comments I've been getting, you guys are lit.
