Chapter 3- The News

**BRENT'S POV**


I saw the way the Hayes and Alyssa were looking at each other. They totally like each other. I think it's pretty cute but I need to get to know this kid before I just give Alyssa away to him.

Jesus, Brent, she's not getting married.

And you aren't her father.

My mind told me as I stifled a laugh.
I am aware I'm not her father and she isn't getting married but before they start dating, I need to make sure I can trust him with her. I mean, she's like my little sister and I'm just the protective big brother. I need to make sure she is okay 24/7. That's what any big brother would do.

Right?

**ALYSSA'S POV**


I woke up in strange surroundings. I looked around the room and when I saw a calendar the said "HAYES' FOOTBALL SCHEDULE." I knew where I was.

I was in Hayes' room.

But. How did I even get here?

Then it dawned on me. He must have picked me up and carried me to his room. Awe.

He really is a sweet kid. I just wish there wasn't that other girl.

I got up out of his bed, which smelled really good, and walked to the door. Before leaving the room I looked at the clock. 11:36.

"11:36!?" I whisper-yelled, my eyes practically flinging out of my head.

I ran out into the kitchen only to see that Brent, Hayes, Nash, and Matthew were the only ones up. Matthew was making pancakes for everyone and chatting with Hayes, and Nash and Brent were playing Xbox in the game room.

When Hayes and Matthew noticed me walk into the kitchen they both smiled and waved. I sat down on one of the stools.

"Good morning." Hayes said still smiling as he walked to me and sat down in the other stool, facing me.

We started to get to know each other while we sat there.

"Come in the kitchen, it's time to tell the little ones what is going on." I heard Matthew say as he walked into the game room then over to the living room.


"We are the little ones, right?" Hayes leaned over and asked.

"I'm pretty sure." I said back as we both Burst into giggles.

They all walked into the kitchen, eyeing us carefully. I rolled my eyes for like the billionth time since I've been here.

"Alright guys." Brent paused, looking around at everyone else who had smiled on their faces.

He then turned back to us.
"We are going to Disney for 2 months of break!" He yelled in excitement.

Did I mention that we just started summer break about a week ago?

I looked at Hayes who was already staring at me with shock written all over his face. He tore his gaze from mine and got off of the chair hugging Nash. I then got off if Mine and ran to Brent. He picked me up and twirled me in a circle, kissing me cheek. When he did that I swear I saw Hayes get a little angry. I wonder why..?
