Explained

Here is a quick recap of things that happened in the last 24 hours.

• I met Natasha, Yuy and Chei.

• I moved house.

• I became friends with Denis.

• Natasha was in hospital.

• Bella's vending machine stopped working.

• I encountered Hideki. 

• Denis' finger got caught in a crab.

• I followed a cat crazy girl into her back garden to look for her supposedly dead cat.

• I met Natasha's Mum.

When I saw Natasha on the beach, I yelped and looked at her. Then I squealed with delight! Natasha was back! I jumped up and I felt very confused. Surely she should be in hospital for more than a day?

Or even a few hours?

"Natasha?" I say breathlessly. "But.. you ...I".

"(Your name!)" Calls out Denis. "What's up?" He takes one look at Natasha and they hug.

I feel a stab of envy. Why should Denis get to hug Tash first? She's MY best friend. Then I realised that they were friends longer than I was with any of them so I bit my tounge and didn't say anything.

Tash suddenly bows in a Japanese formal way. "I was careless, Denis. Do you remember when Hideki stole you away from me a few months back?"

Denis nods shyly. 

"I thought she was going to take you away again." Natasha says walking around in a circle. "And I thought... I can't be hurt like that again. So when I heard that Hideki was coming after (your name), I blamed you. I tried to beat you up and hurt you in the same way YOU hurt ME. But after spending all that time in the hospital, I realise now. It wasn't you that didn't want to be my friend. Hideki became too attached to you. And tried to take you away from me."

Natasha steps forward. "I'm sorry." Denis and Natasha say in unison. Then we all burst out laughing. 

I suddenly see something that makes my heart stop. Hideki is walking along the beach straightening her hair looking at her watch.

Then I remember a question a wanted to ask. "What did Hideki have in her hand before she tried to attack you Tash?"

Tash thinks for a little while. "As far as I can remember, it was a pocket knife."

My eyes widened. Hideki had gone yandere!

Tash sees my expression. "But... she didn't touch me with it! I just got so scared that I fainted and went to hospital for a while. I saw you at my house earlier."

I went red. "Oh.. I just wanted to go to the first spot we looked for Domino."

Then there was a silence.

Hideki walks close to us so we duck behind a wall. Luckily, she doesn't notice us but she looks disapointed and walks away.

"What the hells up HER butt?" asks a small voice.

We turn around and see Bella munching on a chocolate bar.

"You're not aloud on the beach alone." I remind her. "You're not aloud to use those words either."

Bella stares at me and shrugs. "You're here alone. And I heard YOU say butt before."

I was appalled. Bella had been following me! She saw me fall off the wall on my butt and she heard me say, 'I fell on my butt.'

Just then Corl walks along the beach being chased by 8 eight year olds. He ducks behind the rock with us and smiles. "Hey guys." Corl says. "Sorry about that. Kids seem to love me these days." 

He sips his drink he was holding. "I wish Natasha was here." Corl mumbles.

 Natasha taps him on the shoulder.

Corl looks up. "N-Natasha?" He says amazed. "B- but you.."

Natasha laughs. "Shut up."

And they hug. When they finish hugging, Denis and I see that they are blushing.

Then everything comes into full view.

Tash and Corl like each other, but they are to shy to express it. So they keep quiet, not knowing how each of them feel. Denis and I share a meaningful glance.

But then Bella breaks the silence. Darn. I forgot she was there.

"Let's go home, (your name) I'm cold."

Natasha looks at Corl. Corl looks at Natasha. "Do you wanna go for a walk?" Cork asks her.

Natasha nods eagerly. "I wanna stay here." Denis says. "See you guys later?"

I say goodbye to my friends and walk towards our house.

Then I grab Bella's hand and secretly follow Corl and Tash. "Where are we going?" Bella wails.

"I'll give you a quarter." I tell her and she shuts up.

Then I look towards the beach and see Corl and Tash.

Kissing.

Now, this did not make me jealous because I wanted Corl. How messed up would that be?

But, I was jealous because MY crush was only a few feet away and he couldn't even hold my hand?!

!

Natasha looks back at me and blushes. Corl looks back also and waves frantically. Tash holds her hand in a half of a loveheart shape and so does Corl. They make love heart shapes while laughing. I smile even though it hurt.

While walking back to our house Bella talked a lot but I wasn't listening. I looked across the beach for Denis but he'd disappeared. 

Now Corl and Tash were together. Denis didn't say anything about us. About how we could, one day be together.

And that hurt me even more than Hideki ever could.
