I jump up and shake his hand. "Nice to meet you!" I smile. I stare into his eyes, still holding his hand, but he doesn't seem to mind. We are staring at each other for a long time.

Mum pops her head out the door.

"(Your name)! There you are! I knew you would like the beach. Oh you've made a new friend, how delightful."

I let go of Denis' hand like it was on fire.

"Come in (your name) I've made chickpea and organic chicken for dinner." Mum continues.

Now that was just unfair. Why couldn't we have pizza like normal families? What sort of crazy mother was I stuck with?

"I saw a pizza shop down the road.." I start.

"In," Mum says. "Now."

"See you" Denis says a little disappointed.

"Bye," I tell Denis and run into the house.

Denis?

He said 'See You'. Which means I'll see you again.

Or even I want to see you again.

When I had finished my dinner (and did the dreaded chores) I traipsed upstairs.

Then I realised I didn't have a room. So I peeked in each room. The first room had 5 fully stocked vending machines in it and a Sofia the First bed. It also had a shelf full of My Little Pony toys.

The second room was exactly like how Mum described my room so I ran inside. I flopped onto the bed.

I let out an exhilarated giggle

I let out an exhilarated giggle. I had met DenisDaily! And he actually lived close by?! I thought he lived up North? Oh I'm so excited to see him tomorrow. I should see him right?

He said 'See you'. Which means I will see you again. Or even I want to see you again! But I shouldn't get my hopes up.

I'm 15. He's 17. Clearly different. (Not now obviously not he's 20 now.)

Who cares?! I live next door to Denis!

I have this special TV in my room where you can go online and on YouTube. It's called a Samsung Smart TV.  I put on YouTube and start to watch Denis. About halfway through the video, I catch sight of myself in the mirror. I'm looking at my watch. What is the meaning of this?

Well. I already know. It means I'm waiting for the perfect time to do my homework.

This is a simple, normal schoolgirl act that every girl does.

SCHOOL! 😲

I forgot! And I'm sure Mum did too! This may be the most important school year ever! If I fall behind, I can't go to my dream college. I'm going to have to work extra harder to keep up in this new school. Which will start tomorrow. I run to my wardrobe to check my school uniform.

Empty. Of course. Most of my personal belongings were still in a box somewhere.

Downstairs. Upstairs. Back at the old house laying there forgotten taking up space and growing dust...

"(Your name)," Dad grunted. "Your phone and other stuff are here. My back is splitting in two, so come out here quick!"

I run to the door.

"Nice room." Dad remarks walking inside. I fumble through all the boxes looking for my clothes. Nothing clothes related in there. "Dad," I sigh. "Have you seen anything downstairs related to me? A box full of MY personal belongings? Such as.. I dunno CLOTHES?!"

"No", Dad seemed as distraught as me. "The moving van is late. They say that they won't be here till late tommorow."

"Oh no!" I lay on my bed and started to scream. My ears were ringing, and I wanted to see if Dad's were too. But he was already gone from the room.

I heard a knock on the window. My head jerked up. Nothing was knocking against the window. I must have imagined it.

The knock started again.

I jumped of my bed and slowly strolled to the window. Suddenly scared, I pulled back the curtains.

Nothing.

Just the neighbours house next door and if they were dropping stuff on the floor, the sound wouldn't broadcast to my bedroom.

The knock started again, a little louder this time.

Someone was in the neighbours window knocking. When they saw me they waved frantically.

I peered and realised it was Denis.

😬

I waved shyly and knocked to let him know I was listening. Maybe we could become true friends, and send messages to each other through the window  to let each other know how we're getting on. I got a piece of paper and wrote 'I like teddy bears' on it.

It was a little weird, but hey.

I pressed it against the window pane so he could read it. He smiled and did the same thing, only he wrote, 'I like cats.'

For a while, we stood there me in front of my window, him in front of his. Then it looked like from my direction, he had an idea. He left the window and didn't come back for a few minutes so I put on my shoes and snuck out. I walked along the beach. I suddenly see a crab scuttling along the beach. There was a little patch of water nearby, as it had rained earlier, but as soon as the crab got to it, the water sank into the sand.

Feeling sorry for it, I picked it up and placed it in the sea. It scuttled around, waved a claw to thank me, and disappeared in the distance. I looked around for Denis and saw him jogging towards me holding a giant teddy in his hands. He waved when he saw me and jogged a little faster.

When he reached me, he thrust the teddy at me and smiled shyly.

"Here you go."

I gazed in wonder at the teddy. It was bright blue and it had a red shirt on saying ' You're great!'

I gasped and stared up at Denis. He was blushing a little too. I expected him to say something like, "Oh I don't like you at all. This was the only teddy left so take it or leave it."

But he didn't. He said, " I feel like we're going to be great friends."

I put the teddy down, hugged him and smiled.

It's not everyday you get to hug your favourite YouTuber. It's not everyday he says he wants to be your friend to.

I picked up the teddy.

"I have to go." He smiles sadly. "Bye."

I waved happily. "I'll see you soon."

Then I trotted back to Freaktown, My House  clutching my teddy.
