While moving to British Columbia, you meet your favourite YouTuber, DenisDaily.
Your friendship grows and grows and you meet a few other friends too.
(In this story Denis is 17, you are 16. He may be 20 now, but hey we all have an imagination, rig...
While the weeks went by, and the day drew closer, we went about searching for our things through cardboard boxes. And it's not fun seeing your phone stuck in a box with some organic chick peas. In fact, it nearly smashed my phone, which was an iPhone 7 plus.
When I went to complain to mum she didn't seem to happy either. Neither did Dad. But Bella looked on the bright side. "We'll be moving tomorrow anyway sooo.. don't worry about it!"
I stared at her in disbelief. "No way."
Mum looked up. "I told you a few weeks ago, honey. Right?"
"Right but.. I forgot! I need to say goodbye to my friends!" I gasp struggling to get in my coat. " But you promised to help me with the printer toda-" Dad started.
But I was already out the door.
Who should I say goodbye to first? Tia, a girl in my science class? Matt, a boy in my P.E class? Jessi, the girl at the skating park?
I hadn't really made any REAL friends. I hadn't even been here for a month. Maybe I should have thought of that before I went rushing out the door.
Oops.
Just then, Jessi came down on her skateboard to me. "Hi (your name) what's up?"
"Oh nothing much, I just came to see you." I stammer, finding it hard to get the words out. "Well I came to see you! Naomi and Carol and I are going to Franks shop if you'd like to come?" Jessi burbled on. "I can't because.. I'm moving west tomorrow and we have to pack all the time." I put my head down ashamed. I had just started making friends and I only had 18 hours left in this place.
Great.
"But I'll ask if I can go this last time! I'll be there soon!!" I rushed back to my house and found the living room was splattered with ink and paper. Dad's face was red with fury and he was surrounded with printer parts. As soon as I came in he gave me a menacing stare. "Uhh..maybe I shouldn't be here for the moment." I backed out of the room and ran back to Jessi.
"They said it was okay, but I should be back in two hours." I lied.
"That's great, come on!" Jessi exclaims and jumps onto her skateboard.
I tell ya, it's hard work trying to chase a girl on a skateboard. Especially if she the best at it. While Jessi skated ahead, I jogged trying to preserve my energy, but before I knew it Jessi had sped ahead.
Where was she? At Franks shop? At the shopping centre? Knowing how fast she could be once she got her hands on that skateboard she could be on the other side of the world by now. I sighed and turned home. Then I stopped in my tracks as I realised Dad probably wouldn't welcome me back into the house with open arms. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't be happy if someone said they were going to help me with something and they never showed up. And I end up ruining the thing I needed help with.
Wait...
Dad's a pretty smart guy. I'm sure he can do it himself.
Just as I'm thinking, Denis comes sauntering down round a car parked partly on the pavement. He steps to one side to get out of my way, only I've stepped the same way. He steps to the other side. So do I! We look like we're doing some kind of crazy two-step.
"Oh. Whoops. Sorry!" I stammer.
He stays cool, one eyebrow slightly raised. He doesn't say anything but he smiles at me.
Then he walks neatly past, while I dither still in a daze.
I look back over my shoulder. Sure enough, he's looking back at me. He really is. Maybe... maybe he likes me. No, that's mad. Why should this really incredible guy who must be at least twenty think anything of a stupid schoolgirl who can't even walk past him properly? He's not looking up.
"Hey!" A voice calls out. "You coming?" It was Jessi.
"Uhh yeah!" I call back. And I run to join her.
