It was sunrise when I reached the island near my home. I parked my wooden boat by the dock and walked to the unique-looking tree that looks out to the sunset. "You're up early," a distant voice remarked. I looked over on the boat dock to find Sora smiling at me.
"Of course," I giggled. Soon, Sora joined me on the tree as we looked at the beautiful sunrise. "Today's a special day."
"That's right. It's your birthday today, isn't it?" Sora brushed my hair behind me. I nodded shyly, hiding my smile. "Well, since we're having cake later..." I could see something shaped like a star in his hands,"I brought something else instead." I covered my mouth in shock, for the thing in his hand was a Paopu Fruit. In case you don't know,, if two people share one, their destinies will be intertwined. They'll remain apart of each others lives no matter what.
"Sora? You... You didn't have to..." I was at a loss for words. He broke apart the fruit and handed me half. We both ate it at the same time. It was sweet, like watermellon.
"Happy Birthday," Sora kissed me as we watched the sun rise.
