Just a Photo (Prompto x Reader)

Author's note: Hello and welcome to my first Final Fantasy oneshot! Prompto is my favorite character in Final Fantasy 15 other than Noctis. Enjoy!

"Come on, just one photo?" Prompto whinned.

"No," I averted his gaze. Ever since we began our roadtrip, Prompto has been trying to take a picture of me, while Noct, Ignis, and Gladio watched in awe.

"Uh, why?" Prom tilted his head.

"Because…reasons." We stayed silent for a few minutes, until Ignis spoke up.

"We're going to stop to make camp. We'll continue in the morning," Ignis announced. After we set up our camp, I began to explore while Ignis began to prepare dinner and Noct and Gladio were training together.

"Wow, that sunset looks beautiful." I climbed onto a rock that overlooked the horizon and watched the sun set. Suddenly, I heard a camera noise go off behind me. "Prompto, I said no pictures!" I yelled.

"Why don't you want a picture of yourself? The truth this time," Prompto came closer to me and stared me in the eyes.

"Because…" I closed my eyes, "because I look ugly." Tears started to form in my eyes.

"Hey, don't say that about yourself." Prom took me into his arms, my heart racing. "You're the most beautiful person I've ever met in my life. Out of all the photos I've taken so far on our journey, I haven't found the perfect picture. Something was missing in each photo. That something was you." He ran his hands through my hair as I attempted to blink back tears, but failed. "It's okay. You don't have to hold back your tears." At the sound of that, I buried my face into Prompto's chest. Usually, I always have a smile on my face, but today was the first day that anybody saw me cry. It felt…good somehow.

"I think I'm better now," I sniffled, wiping away any remaining tears.

"That's good." Prompto ruffled my hair. "Wow, this looks like the perfect photo opt. Hey, now can we take a picture?"

"Sure!" Prompto turned on his camera and we got close enough to fit in the picture frame.

"Okay, on the count of three, I'm gonna take the photo. One…two…three!" On three, Prom kissed me right on the cheek. "Aw, you're blushing!" He giggled. I laughed nervously, my face turning red.

"There you two are!" Three voices shouted at the same time. I turned around to find Noct, Iggy, and Gladio with suspicious expressions on their faces.

"So, what were you two doing?" Noct asked. Prompto and I looked at each other and blushed.

"Making memories," we both said at the same time.

Later, we had dinner around the campfire. Tonight, Ignis cooked up Dish and Chips. As usual, Prompto showed everyone all of the pictures he took today.

"That's a good picture of our chocobos." Gladio pointed to the picture that was taken at the chocobo farm.

"That one with the Regalia looks nice as well," Ignis gestured to the picture of the shiny black car sitting in a gas station.

"How about this one?" Noct pointed to the photo of me staring at the sunset.

"That one's my favorite," Prompto said with a bright smile. "Hey, what's your favorite?" All eyes were on me.

"Well…" I looked at all of the photos and picked the one that I loved the most. "This one. The one with you and I, Prom." I pointed to the one where we took a selfie by the sunset, the one where Prompto kissed me on the cheek.

"Yeah. I like that one too." Prompto pulled me close to him, causing me to rest my head on his shoulder. The fire began to die down and we all looked up at the sky.

"The stars look beautiful tonight," I looked up at the sparkling stars.

"I know something more beautiful." Prompto leaned closer to me.

"What?"

"You." My heart started pounding, and I sighed like an idiot.

"Ha, you sound like those cliche Tumblr posts, you chocobo butt," I giggled.

"Uh oh, Prompto, looks like you got busted," Noct chuckled.

"Argh, I was trying to be cool! And my hair does not look like a chocobo's butt!" Prompto pouted as we all laughed. After a few minutes, I began to doze off, so I turned to see if Prompto was awake. When I turned my head to face him, our lips came in contact. "I…um. I didn't plan that," Prompto blushed madly. We both stared at each other for a moment our faces still inches away. "We should, uh, get some sleep."

"Y-yeah…" I got off of Prompto, and he scooped me up and carried me like a princess. "Jeez, you're being so extra," I sighed.

"Anything for you, my love!" Prom posed while still holding me in his arms. "Get some rest, okay?"

"Only if you promise you will too."

"I will." He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. "Goodnight."
