I can't hear. I was born deaf. But my love doesn't mind. He picked up sign language ever since we met, and even though that was about a year ago, he's nearly fluent in the language.

"So, your birthday is coming up?" Tokiya signed. I nodded. "What do you want? I'll buy you anything you want."

"Well, it's not something you can buy." Tokiya tilted his head in confusion. "All I ever want is to hear your voice." His eyes widened.

"Wanna know something?" Tokiya asked. "When we first met, I wrote a song about you. After I found out that you couldn't hear, I felt a little uncomfortable. I remember on our first date, we saw a rainbow. It wasn't a normal rainbow, it seemed special somehow. I remember seeing you smile brightly for the first time, and that was when I knew that you were mine and I was yours. That moment was my inspiration to write a song."

I only smiled and signed, "Thank you." Tokiya nodded. "Maybe one day, I'll get to hear your song." We sat there staring at each other for a few moments, and my head perked up. "Oh, your new album debuts tomorrow, right?"

"And your birthday is tomorrow, right?" Tokiya replied after gently rubbing my forehead. I nodded. "Time goes by fast." I nodded in agreement.  Suddenly, Tokiya took out his phone. After a minute or two of talking, he puts his phone away with a dissapointed look on his face. "I have to go now. There are still things to be done for the album release. See you tomorrow." Tokiya placed a soft kiss on my forehead, my face turned red. That was the first time he kissed me. After he left, I decided to take a nap. Well, I actually went to bed. I didn't wake up for what felt like over 24 hours. Honestly, I still don't know how long I was asleep. All I remember was...hearing a melody. It felt like a dream.

Ah, only reaching out to you
The sound of the wind...feeling heart

Don't cry anymore, you're fine as you are
Look at the sky
Ah, my sweetest love

A hue made up of multiple colors began to transpire in front of me. This has got to be a dream, I thought. If I'm hearing, then I'm only dreaming. The melody continued.

Don't cry anymore, you're fine as you are
I want you to let me protect you
If there's a dream we both believe in...

The light became brighter and brighter. I could have sworn I saw a silhouette of Tokiya.

Let it descend in seven colors on the world

I opened my eyes to find Tokiya singing before me. His voice was gentle and smooth. After Tokiya serenaded me with the song I assumed he wrote for me, I looked around at my surroundings. I was in a hospital bed with an unknown reason.

"To..ki...ya?" I mumbled. He walked closer to me.

"Did you hear it?" Tokiya spoke and signed at the same time. I nodded happily.

"I...heard your song....It was beautiful." I had never seen Tokiya cry until the very moment I mumbled those words. Behind him, my parents, who aren't deaf, were crying tears of joy as well. Pretty much everyone in the room, including myself, were crying tears of joy. The doctor was standing just outside the door, a smile on his face.

"Can I go?" I signed. I still needed to learn how to speak, so I still relied on sign language for communication. St☆rish was holding a party for the release of Tokiya's new solo album, and I was invited by Tokiya.

"Of course," my mother nodded as she wiped away her tears. It was a little difficult to stand up because I was a little light-headed. Tokiya took my hand and helped me stand.

"Shall we?" He asked. I nodded happily. Walking out of the hospital hand in hand, Tokiya serenaded me with his voice while my parents smiled joyfully. The following night would be life changing.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

That evening, my mother picked out an outfit adorned in shades of my favorite color. "It looks wonderful on you," she complimented. A knock at the door signaled my departure.

"Ready?" Tokiya greeted me. I nodded and he took me by the arm and led me to a limo. On the way to wherever the party was being held, Tokiya and I listened to all of St☆rish's songs. By the time we arrived to Saotome Academy, we finished listening to We Are St☆rish. When Tokiya opened the doors to the academy building, I was greeted by sheer darkness.

"It's dark," I mumbled.

"Hey," I felt Tokiya rest his hand on my shoulder, "I, uh, understand it's a special occasion today."

"Your album release." I replied.

"Well, that too. But also..." Suddenly, multiple glowsticks in multiple colors began to shine as many voices sang Happy Birthday. After they were finished, the actual lights were turned on and everyone cheered. Tokiya walked closer to me and closed the gap between the two of us with a kiss. After what felt like a never ending eternity, Tokiya slowly pulled away from me. "I love you," he spoke and signed at once.

"I love you too," I could hardly speak as Tokiya pulled me into his arms. Out of all of the birthdays I've had in my life, I finally got the one gift I have wanted for a while: the gift to hear my prince's song.
