Author's note: Merry Christmas, Reader! I apologize for the Uta Pri spam, I am absolutely obsessed with this show, but I understand that there are more characters out there. If you have a character request, please feel free to comment (I don't bite, trust me). Anyways, Masato's birthday is close to Christmas, so I thought, "Why not do a Christmas special?" Alrighty, see you in the next chapter! (`・ω・')
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Tis the season. My favorite time of the year is finally here. The point when I wait under the mistletoe and hope that someone will join me. The time of the year when trees illuminate the night with their festive lights. Christmas. Christmas is here.
Not only is it December 25, it's also a few days before a certain someone's birthday. This year, I gave Christmas a nickname: Masato's early birthday! Of course he wasn't fully on board with the nickname idea, but I can tell behind that itty-bitty smile of his that he's excited for either Christmas, his birthday, or both. Now the main question is...what do I get him? Other than piano, calligraphy, and St☆rish, he doesn't really have a passion for anything else. Should I get him a new calligraphy set? Blank sheet music? Ren Jinguji merchandise??? Before I could ponder any longer, a piano started playing a familiar melody. That's right. He was playing Knocking on the Mind on the piano. I forgot I was still at Saotome Acadamy. Then it hit me. I knew just what to get him.
I still had a few hours until the Christmas party St☆rish is holding. I'm not a pro at making the type of gift I'll give to Masato, but I'll do my best to make it perfect. From now until the time the party starts, my time will be devoted to his gift.
************************************
Since today is Christmas, St☆rish decided to have a Christmas party. Masato's gift had to wait, and time was defidently against me. But I had to forget my worries when Haruka greeted me."Merry Christmas. I love your outfit." Haruka giggled. As soon as her compliment was heard, heads were turning towards me.
"My, my," Ren cooed.
"Woah." Ittoki stared in awe.
"How adorable." Natsuki hugged me tightly.
"Looks trendy," Cecil commented.
"Interesting," Tokiya remarked.
Syo tried to formulate a sentence, but it seemed like his words were lost in uncontrollable laughter. My outfit was different, that's true, but it wasn't that funny. Suddenly, Masato entered the room. My glistening outfit took his attention instantly.
"Why do you look like a present?" At least Masato knew what I was aiming for when I made the outfit.
"Because I'm your Christmas present!" I posed like an idol. Masato averted my gaze and I could have sworn I heard a silent chuckle under his breath. "I'll give your your actual Christmas and Birthday gift later, just be patient," I explained. As the night went on, I worked on Masato's gift in secret. At around nine o'clock or so, I finally finished. Reluctantly, I walked up to the mini stage near the grand window. A piano in perfect condition awaited me. "No problem. Just play," I mumbled to myself. I played the intro to Knocking on the Mind, and voices began to hush. So what was my birthday/Christmas gift to Masato? With whatever creativity I had, I wrote a song for him, adding some parts of his own song into my score. The lights were dimly lit in a azure color, fitting for the falling snow outside the windows. For a split second, I glanced over to look at Masato, his eyes widened with surprise. The melody ended with an arpeggio, followed by brief silence. In a split second, the room was filled with applauds. I bowed, and Masato began to walk towards me. "Did you like your gift?" I asked nervously. Unexpectedly, he took me into his arms and held me tightly. That was the first time he ever showed affection towards me.
"It was beautiful," Masato whispered in my ear. Suddenly, Ren snuck over to us with something in his right hand. Upon a closer look, he was holding a mistletoe. Masato's face turned vermilion.
"Masato, it's Christmas," Ren teased.
"J-Jinguji san...please leave," Masato stuttered.
"I'm not going anywhere until you give your gift."
"My gift?" Masato tilted his head in confusion. Ren swayed the mistletoe above our heads. Masato froze right where he was, so I took my chances and closed the gap between us with a short kiss. When we broke away from each other, I bashfully averted Masato's gaze as he processed what just happened.
"That...that was my other gift to you," I nervously chuckled. After trembling and stuttering, Masato grew the courage to wrap his shaky arms around me and pull me into a passionate, at first reluctant, kiss. Ren was swaying the mistletoe above us.
"T-that was my...gift to you." His trembling stopped, and he rocked me gently in his arms.
"Awww, how cute!" Ren mused.
"J-Jinguji san..." Masato buried his head in my shoulders. "Merry Christmas." He pecked me lightly on the cheek.
"Happy early birthday." I pecked Masato on the cheek. Ren still swayed the mistletoe above us as Masato continued to rock me in his arms while Christmas snow fell past the cream colored moon.
