Baylee looked up.
"Is it over?"
Kaspar laughed.
"You're pretty impatient."
"Let's be honest, so are you."
He stood up.
"We should really go. It's time."
"If you think it's safe, okay then."
"You suggested it, remember?"
"I didn't. I just asked you if the battle was over."
"I think so, but how would I know?"
"Easily. You're the war expert here."
"I'm not. In fact, I'm the loser here."
"We're all losers here."
The two giggled slightly as they walked downstairs and into the cold streets.
"Like, we need to find an army. It's our aim, you know?" Kaspar smiled.
"This is what I've been telling you all this time."
"Anyway..."
Nothing being said.
A shout.
A sound of a gun firing.
And finally, a native flag was waved.
"Any people here who haven't escaped?"
"Not exactly practical. They're giving out their location," Baylee smiled.
"Wow, you're pretty good at war for a girl."
"See? I'm not such a loser."
"But you said we were both losers."
"Anyway, they're calling for us! The army!"
"I know, no need to shout."
Baylee walked closer towards the flag.
"Don't get too excited. It might be a trap."
"But it's our hope."
Kaspar sighed and followed the girl.
The army was wearing the native suits, and most importantly, casting little flames of magic- proving that they were undoubtedly on Baylee and Kaspar's side.
"Hello?"
"Hi kids," one of them with a scar on his cheek said.
Baylee felt a little bit afraid. Those men looked so brutal.
"Don't worry. We saw you on the street the other day-"
"We only came this morning."
"Okay, today. My memory's playing tricks with me again. Today, fine," the man looked thoughtful. "Thought you needed help. You're so young..."
"We do need help, and we were looking for you," Kaspar spoke up.
"Whatever it is, you may stay with us. I'm Butcher."
"I'm Kaspar, this is Baylee. I've been here since the very beginning of the war, Baylee came when she saw me."
Butcher examined the girl's looks.
"You need some warm clothes."
"I know."
"Sorry, we don't have any. We'll find some when we're able to."
