"Kaspar, I can't resist guns. What should I do?"
"Maybe you should try shooting them. You know, I fancy the idea of rules being made for breaking."
"Really? Are you crazy?"
"Are you?"
Baylee cracked up, nearly choking on the loaf.
"Yes. I am. I just want to save the last of your sanity."
"I can do that myself, thank you. It's my sanity."
"I just wanted to help!" Baylee jokingly made puppy dog eyes.
"I know you did," the boy replied through laughter.
Baylee picked up the weapon.
"I'll try to fight, then..."
"I'm coming with you. Hope you're not a girly girl."
"You already know if I am."
"I'm confused. You're somewhere in the middle. Anyway, I need to find a gun too then."
"Can't you fight back with magic?"
"Can't you?" He seemed grumpy.
"Well, I haven't practiced yet."
"Neither have I."
"What's wrong with you when I say the word 'magic'?"
"Nothing."
"Then let's go."
They got out, the sun blinding them. Kaspar immediately fell on the snow.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, of course. How could I not be?"
"You know, reasons. You have the same chances of getting hurt as me."
He got up again.
"You're right, but I'm fine! So are you."
Baylee shrugged her shoulders. They kept walking.
The sound of a bomb.
Baylee's gasp of fear.
"Calm down!"
Baylee shot back.
"Baylee! Baylee!"
"What?"
"You shot him! The enemy!"
The boy was smiling. Baylee grinned back.
"We now have to fight back the rest of them."
Kaspar ran away.
Another shot sound.
A scream.
"Yes!"
"They're probably disappointed in themselves. Like, they've literally been shot by a kid," Baylee announced.
"They're probably dead. Dead people don't have feelings."
"Aren't you confident?"
"I am," Kaspar replied proudly. Baylee cracked up.
A man came running. Kaspar tugged Baylee into a house.
"Maybe it was not such a good idea," he said.
"Do you think we could change anything now?"
