*Connor’s POV*

Over the past few days I’ve treated Ava a lot differently, I can’t say I know how it feels to want to die or have that weight of depression on you but I can say it must be tough. I was a little shocked when Tom told me, I thought maybe he was just kidding and that’s why she was upset but clearly that wasn’t the case at all. She seemed the happiest, brightest girl I’d met, but obviously a smile can hide a lot.

I wanted to make her happy, I wanted to make her feel good about herself. This was my promise to her, and me. She knew I cared about her but I needed to prove to her that no matter how she is, she’ll always mean everything to me.

She was currently asleep, wrapped around the blankets on my bed. I loved everything about this girl, the way her lips lightly part when she sleeps. The sound of her soft snores, her hair spread out over my chest. I loved the way she’d laugh and cover her mouth with her hand. In fact, nothing about this girl made me dislike her. She truly was perfect.

I quietly left the room and walked down the hallway then down the stairs. I was starting to get hungry. I knew that there was left over pancake mix in the fridge so I decided to use that. I added a few bananas and strawberries. I poured myself a smoothie and cooked my pancakes.

I sat down at the island between the kitchen and dining room and began eating. Ava had made pancakes yesterday but we didn’t use it all so she put the leftovers in the fridge.

*Ava’s POV*

I woke wrapped up in the covers, I turned over to face Connor but found that he wasn’t there. I sat up and climbed out of bed. The mirror opposite the bed showed my reflection as I walked past.

My mascara clearly hadn’t come off properly when I washed last night as most of it had run down my face, leaving black marks. I sighed before entering the bathroom to remove it. I quickly placed one of Connor’s hoodies on and pulled a pair of grey sweatpants on and left the room.

Connor’s body was facing away from me as I entered the kitchen, he was eating. I figured from the smell it was the left over pancakes from yesterday.

I walked past him and over to the fridge. I couldn’t see anything so I quickly closed it and turned to Connor.

“Morning sleeping beauty” he laughed, he’d almost finished his food.

“Morning” I walked over to him and placed a light kiss to his cheek.

“I was hungry, I didn’t want to wake you so I used the batter from yesterday. Is that okay?”

“Of course it is” I smiled at him, he’d been so sweet recently.

 *Connor’s POV*

“What shall we do today?” I asked Ava, she was applying her usual makeup.

“I’m not bothered, we don’t need a lot doing so anything” Her phone began to flash.

*Ava’s POV*

“Hello” I answer into my phone.

“It’s your farther” I sighed

“Hey”

“I don’t understand you child, where have you been?” he screamed down the phone, this should be fun.

“I’ve been at Connor’s, my boyfriends?” I questioned him, he knew this.

“Well I feel like you should decide to move out or take your things, we need a room” he stubbornly replied.

“Move out?” I spat

“Yes, with a baby on the way we need a room for its crib and all that”

“A baby?” I chocked on my drink.

“Yes, we’re having a baby” he smiled down the phone.

“I’m getting my things, I won’t be returning to you. Don’t bother ever contacting me again” I hung up.

 “What’s happened?” Connor questioned.

“My father, that’s what” I huffed, I didn’t want to take this out on Connor.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to snap” he nodded and stood.

“Tell me” he walked towards me and held me close.

“He’s basically kicked me out, he’s got a baby on the way with his bitch of a girlfriend” i told him, he looked sympathetic.

“You can move in here?, maybe this is better for you?” his face lit up.

Maybe this is what we needed? I did basically live her anyway.

“You would want that?” I wanted to check Connor wanted me here.

“Of course, baby we’ve been together for a good few months and besides you have me here all the time?” he smiled down at me.

“Okay” I laughed

“So you will move in?” he gleamed

“Yes, yes I will”

  *Connor’s POV*

We needed to gather all Ava’s things. I drove her to her old house, nobody was in.

“Will you help me pack?” she asked, I nodded and climbed out the car and followed her up the path.

Her house was big, it wasn’t as big as our current one but it was big. The walls were plain, I didn’t even see any family photos. As she brought me to her room I noticed a few photos. They were all of Ava and her younger brother. They were smiling, her smile looked real.

“I don’t want anything In those draws but if you could, can you fill this bag with the clothes from that set of draws?” she asked, handing me a big black bag.

I nodded before opening the bag and began opening the first draw. The clothes inside were all folded neatly. I laughed at how cute she was.

“What?” she laughed.

“They’re all neatly stored” I pointed to the draw.

“Yeah” she giggled.

After about an hour of packing we’d finally gathered everything she wanted. As we left her room she stopped and turned to the place where the photos were placed. She took three from the pile and placed them into one of the bags she was holding.

As we drove back home, she spoke about her room. How her mum had painted it and she’d refuse to paint over it. How her bedding was made by her mum also.

“Can I empty this bag into that wardrobe? They’re the clothes that I’m not throwing away”

“Yeah sure, we’ll go shopping soon and I’ll get you a wardrobe”

“Thank you” she smiled at me.

I was excited about this move, this way I can protect her more. I can make her the happiest girl alive and I won’t stop until I do just that.
