Mari's POV

A cruise along the British coastline! Every girls dream!
Except mine.
And do you want to know why?
Two words:
My family.

First we've got my mom:
She's your stereotypical PTA suburban Mom. Even though we don't live in the suburbs. Nor is my mother a part of the PTA. But I'll bet she wishes she was.
Mom's the one who encouraged me to streak my hair with blond in the first place. And get spray tans.
I HATE spray tans.
They make me look like an orange.
Also, the mother-demon forced me to get my eyebrows plucked. I'm quite sure that can be considered child abuse. I'm happy keeping them as bushy as they are.
We get in fights constantly due to my refusal to wear dresses and act like a 'proper lady'.
To hell with proper ness.

Then we've got my dad.
He's a quiet man to the point of barely speaking. I guess living with the mother demon has put him into silence. Anyone who dares defy her gets hellfire and judgement rained down upon them.
I like to bug him a lot since he never responds.

Last we've got my sister, Kate.
Or as my parents like to call her: God's gift to the universe.
I refer to her as: Satan's little helper.
My parents worship her because she always does exactly what they tell her to do. They always fail to see how weird she is.
Example:
Other kids have dogs, cats, and turtles as pets.
Kate has a crawfish.
Need I say more?

So, when my parents told us we were going on a three week long cruise around the British isles, I nearly broke into tears.
It was just another opportunity to show everyone how dysfunctional we were and how much I am the black sheep of the family.

Yet, nonetheless, as soon as winter break rolled in, we were down at the docks, gripping our coats tightly around us as our luggage was loaded up the gang plank.
This explained why my parents had gotten such a great deal on a master suite: Nobody wants to go on a cruise in the middle of FREAKIN winter!
Idiots.
I stepped onto the stairwell that led up to large cruise ship, taking one last look at the solid ground.

Little did I know it would be the last time I would see it in a very long while.
