The pirate captain flicked his blond hair out of his eyes and lowered the gun, pointing it at Taylor.
"Then I'll shoot him, instead."
"No!", I said quickly. "Don't!"
Captain Kirkland cocked back the gun.
"No! I-I'll come.", I hung my head, defeated.
He smiled like a child on Christmas and roughly grabbed my hand. Captain Kirkland gestured to Taylor while looking at the two men that stood on either side of him.
"Bring the boy for leverage."
No. No. No.
I whirled around.
"You can't do that! You never said anything about bringing him."
But the pirate captain didn't say anything. He just picked me up, bridal style, and carried me onto his ship. The two men roughly dragged Taylor.
"Put him in the brig.", Captain Kirkland said. "That's where he's staying."
"What about me?",I asked in a small voice.
"Well.", Captain Kirkland said as if it was the most obvious thing ever,
"You'll be staying with me, of course."
