Taylor looked at me with wide eyes.
"What the hell was that?!?", he all but yelled.
I got up, running to the other side of the railing that had been obscured by the wall.

What I saw took away my breath.

A galleon ship, straight out of Pirates Of the Caribbean or something, stood along side the boat.
It had shining white sails and a polished hull. A statue of a mermaid hung across the front.
The side read
"Queen Anne's Revenge II"

But, frankly, I was more worried about the gaping hole that occupied the far end of the our ship.

My family...

I grabbed Taylor's wrist and began running to the far end of the deck, right along side the ship.
"Mari! Shouldn't we be running away.", Taylor hissed.

My curiosity had gotten the better of me.

I've always been so thick headed to the point where I can acknowledge it myself.
I'm never rational.
I don't think.
If I had any ounce of sense I wouldn't be in this mess.

The gunshot came faster than I could picture, my only immediate thought process was realizing Taylor crumpling to the ground next to me.
I made some shrieking sound and kneeled down beside him.
Taylor was shot in the shoulder, not fatally, but he was growing paler by the minute.

I looked up at the owner of the gun, getting up slowly.

Hot damn.

In full pirate costume, complete with hat and feather, was the hottest guy I ever had the fortune/misfortune to see. The man had messy blond hair and eyes that reflected the green tones of the seas.

I hated him, instantly.

The blond, turned and spoke in a British accent.
"Names Arthur Kirkland. You can call me captain, love." He said with a wink while snaking his arm around my waist.
"Simply couldn't bear to see a pretty little thing like you in the company of another man." Captain Kirkland gestured to the bleeding Taylor on the floor and pulled me closer to his firm chest.

I did what any insane person with a death wish would do.

Meaning, I slapped him across the face.
