Charming. Charming, California. Written on the welcome sign it says "Our Name Says It All". To people passing through I'm sure it is a charming town. Quaint and rural, meeting all your basic needs. But there is one thing that sets this little town apart from others. A very big influence resides here, SAMCRO.
I'd only lived here a little over a year and it's been one extreme after another. This being the only place I could go after my parents disowned me, I've sucked it up. It was better than being homeless, or dead.
I'd joined the military when I was twenty. Finished basic and was deployed almost immediately. I'd become a medic and on the second day of being overseas I'd already seen action three times and mended over a dozen brothers and sisters.
My third month I'd gone out on a patrol and we'd been attacked. I was on the outskirts and received minor injuries compared to the ones who'd lost their lives. I'd received a TBI, traumatic brain injury, and had been sent home. I hadn't even been there long enough to say so.
Upon my arrival my parents were thankful for me to be alive. Once I'd recovered they pushed for me to go back, but I couldn't. The things I'd witnessed haunted me. I'd been diagnosed with PTSD. Needless to say my father disowned me, kicked me out. The only place I could find to go was my cousins, in Charming.
My first week had been rough. My cousins were on my ass about finding a job and I'd settled for working a cash register at a convenience store. I wasn't impressed, but thankfully I could dress in my own clothes. It was there I had my first encounter with the Sons.
The store happened to be next door to the Sons of Anarchy compound. Inside of it was Teller-Morrow, the Sons garage and a place they called the Clubhouse. It was there base.
The members were constantly coming in for beer and cigarettes. Of all hours of the night their motorcycles can be heard coming and going. With biker gangs, I guess you'd consider it normal.
My cousins only rule for staying with them was, don't get caught up with the Sons of Anarchy. Easy enough right? That's what I thought too.
