Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. I woke to the sound of constant beeping. Where was I? I looked to my left. There was a window, TV, a couple of chairs, and someone sitting in one. My vision was still blurry so I couldn't see who it was. I look over to my right. I saw a door and some really fancy equipment. I had no clue what that was for. I looked down at myself. I was in a hospital bed. Nothing had happened to my arm. I lifted my arm. Jolts of pain went through it.
"Ow!" I yelled.
"Huh?" I heard someone say. "Oh, you're awake!"
"Wh- who's there?"
"It's me silly, it's Alex!"
Oh, that makes sense now.
"Oh, I couldn't see you, my vision is very blurry."
"The doctors said that's just a side-effect of the medicine."
"Oh.... So, what's gonna happen to me?"
"They're just gonna stitch up your arm, nothing much, really. They might also add a cast so you don't pick at it and get an infection."
We both shrugged in fear at that. I didn't want a cast, but it would be cool.
-----A DAY LATER-----
I woke up Thursday morning feeling great. I didn't remember anything from last night, really. Other than a kid's TV show that I had to watch. But, I felt great because I was about to get my abusive father jailed. I had asked Alex to send the knife off to the police so they can scan for blood and fingerprints.
As I walked out of the hospital, Alex was behind me, seeming unhappy. That was unusual of him, he's usually bright, bubbly and happy.
"What's wrong?" I asked. "I'm fine, if that's what you-"
"The knife came back with no fingerprints or blood. Your dad must've used gloves and then cleaned it off afterwards."
"Well... we can check the water supply for my blood, right?"
"Yeah, but that means one thing that can lead to other things. They could think you cut yourself."
"We're going to need a good lawyer, or something. This is not going to be easy. But it is possible."**U G H. I'm SO sorry for not updating you in the past three days! Turns out Missouri and ice go together well. And ice and roads, aswell. I was stuck in traffic for six hours and same going back. Again, I have this lovely iPod Touch 6, so no service. On the bright side, I'm making another story, Stuck With A Straight, so I'm making the first chapter for that. Anyways, thanks for your patience, and love to all! ❤️**
**P.S. Happy Holidays, as well! 🎁**
