We went home, my arm in pain, even if it's not moving. My mom was waiting on the porch waiting for us. When I walked up the creaky stairs she hugged me.
"That's my arm! Ow!" I said, in pain as she squished my arm.
"Oh, sorry honey, I'm just so happy you got home fine."
"Yeah I'm fine... I just need to sit down." I walked into the living room and sat down in one of the leather chairs.
My mind was telling me 'Ask ''Where's my father"', but it never came out of my mouth, so I just sat in the chair while the others came in.
"Awh, honey..." my mother says to me, rubbing my shoulders, "I'm so sorry for what happened."
"It's not like I could help it." I say. "So, where-"
"Is your father? I sent him out, and..." She leans in close to my ear, "I have security cameras all around the house."
"Aren't those expensive?"
"Your father left his wallet behind."
"Oh.... Well I'm going up to my room, you coming with?" I say to Alex.
"Yep." He says as he walks upstairs with me.
"Oh, and I also changed your sheets and mattress and things!" My mother calls out to me.
"Thanks!" I yell back.
The room still looked normal, with a few red lights from the cameras.
Alex and I plopped on the bed. "What do we do now?" Alex asks.
"I dunno, just play video games I guess." I suggest.
"Sounds good to me."
I turned on my Xbox and loaded up COD and we played online.
I felt more safe, more courageous now that my father was out of the house. I felt like a new person. I felt free.
