Saber's POV
This is it. Today is the day that we go to my home realm and go to a ball. I am nervous, but also tingling in excitement and anticipation. But then, something comes to mind.
"How are we going to get our clothes there? Are we driving? Can we even drive?" I ask. Molly smiles at me and explains
"No, we can't drive. Star and Amy can use their powers to teleport small objects, so that is what they're doing with our luggage."
"Oh okay, then let's go!" I exclaim. We all go outside, where I see strange things happen to my friends. Inferno turns into a phoenix, wings shoot out of Angel's back, Sophia turns into a huge lion-dragon-goat beast, Lightning starts controlling the wind to move him around, and a blast of light hits Jake, turning him into a dove, while Amy also changes into a dove and Star becomes a raven. "Wow." I gape at them all.
"Come on Saber, shift already!" Lightning exclaims, smirking as he hovers casually in midair.
"Oh, right." I concentrate on changing my body, like I remember doing once before. I don't know what I'm turning into, I let my brain control that. I look down at my paws to see leopard spots. Molly stares at me, a bit of anger in her gaze. I wonder what's wrong with her.
"Okay, let's go. I'll see you guys at the portal." Molly says, then vanishes.
What?
Somehow, I must look confused, since Lightning chuckles and explains for me.
"She controls and manipulates sound, so she can move at the speed of sound." Wow, that's so cool! "Anyway, we should get going. She's probably at the portal by now." Weird beast Sophia huffs and launches herself into the sky, quickly disappearing from view. "Okay, let's get moving. Last one there loses and gets a penalty from the winner!" Lightning shouts, then with a burst of lightning from the sky, he vanishes.
Letting out an irritated growl, I launch myself into the forest, not wanting to lose. I don't want a penalty from anyone here. Who knows what they'd make me do?
Running through the forest, I feel great, like being a cat is natural. I must have done this a lot in the past. Even if I can't remember. Nia must have lived where I lived as well, I did see her shift from a tiger in the first dream.
Without realizing, I unconsciously end up in front of a small cabin. I tilt my head slightly as I study it, confused as to why my subconscious brought me here. I decide to go inside and study it. I walk over to the door and try nudging it open with my head, happy to see it works.
As soon as I walk in, I am hit with dulled, yet familiar scents. I can smell my own, Angel's and one I have only recently stored to memory. Nia's. At some point, before I lost my memory, I spent a significant time in this cabin with Angel and Nia.
I look around the downstairs, then spotting the stairs, I leap up them excitedly as Nia's weak scent gets slightly stronger. I follow it to a door that's slightly ajar, and shove the door open, using my head again. Nia's scent envelops me, leaving me with a sense of peace. With all my thoughts of the race banished from my mind, I suddenly feel tired, like I need to rest. I jump up on the bed and curl up, closing my eyes and falling asleep immediately.
Angel's POV
I smile smugly from my seat atop a tree branch as Molly enters the clearing as no more than a blur and a muffled running sound. She grins widely until she looks around fully and spots me and Inferno sitting proudly in the tree, since I won the race and Inferno was second.
