Little Old Gal’
Guess I’m not as great as I once was.
Guess I’ve lost my special touch.
Guess my fame’s just not that buzz,
That buzz that spread a lot and much.
Guess I’m just a little old gal’ whose fame was not enough.
Assuming that I once was brave,
My bravery has failed me.
If I was brave, I will now lie in my grave
Because bravery I do not see.
I assume I’m just a little old gal whose bravery was not enough.
Joke that I’m a slow, slow child,
To never see the obvious truth.
Say that I am rash and wild,
Never to be normal or aloof.
Joke that pity gets me far,
For I am pitiful.
Say “I’m just a little old gal’ whose brilliance was not enough.”
But for a little old gal’ like me
With no brains, fame, or chivalry…
At least I know who I am
Unlike you,
I’m not a sham.
