Reassurance
These reassurances
I do not believe them anymore
Just as I don’t believe in fiction
Or non-reality.
These reassurances
Which seem so sweet and enlightening
When said
Have become a mixture
Of disbelief and dread.
These reassurances
Are only illusions to the receiver
A success to the giver;
A dying candle flame
In the dark;
A feather light blanket
To a kid
In the freezing cold.
Reassurance
Like many things
Are what we want to believe,
Are what we want to feel better
And when we are reassured
Only,
Later do we find the pain, fear, emotion that is lost
And hiding behind our reassurance.

And Me...
PoetryThis is just a collection of poems that I've written and the others that I plan to write. I'm not claiming to be some epic poet, but I hope you all enjoy. Thanks for reading (if you read) and thanks for commenting (if you speak). Your choice :)
