"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to Claudia! Happy birthday to you," everyone sings, I smile and blow out the candles on the cake and look at my three best friends.
It's times like these where I'm reminded that I don't need my family to make me feel important or loved, I need friends.
I know that family is meant to be there for you forever but that's not always the case, friendship can last for ever too.

"Really?" Carter pipes in, I shake my head.
