Justin’s POV

“Selena?” I answered my phone quickly.

“Justin, it’s worse than we think it is. She’s talking abortion and suicide. I’m going to call Carin and Ashley. Maybe if we have a little intervention with her, we can talk some sense into her. But I am worried. She looks so withdrawn.”

            “I’m on my way.”

“Justin, wait. I think it would be best if you stayed at home right now. She is angry with you. If you come over, I’m afraid it might make things worse. She fell back to sleep, so I’m going to just wait until morning to have the girls come over.”

“Keep me updated.” I hung up. I was worried about her, but I had to trust Selena. Meanwhile, I called Dr. Jay to make an appointment for her. Maybe when she saw the baby and heard the heartbeat, she would have a change of heart.

Madelyn’s POV

I woke up in Selena’s bed again. This time it was morning. I felt bad. I had been in their bed for almost an entire day. As I opened my eyes, I saw not only Selena sitting on the bed, but also Carin and Ashley.

“Hey girly.” Ashley smiled at me.

“What are you guys doing here?”

“We came to talk some sense into you!” Carin exclaimed. I instantly regretted telling Selena anything. She had probably told every one that I was suicidal and called this little intervention. But they weren’t going to change my mind. So, I decided to just fake it for them. It would be the quickest way out of this mess.

“What are you talking about?” I laughed. “I’m fine!”

They all gave me looks that doubted me.

“Maddie, it’s okay. You can talk to us.” Selena laid her hand on my shoulder. No, I can’t, I thought in the back of my head, but I just smiled.

“I feel a lot better. I think I just needed to sleep.”

“We understand why you are freaking out. Four kids is a lot!”

“First of all, none of you really understand. You two,” I pointed to Carin and Selena, “have one child. None of you can understand the daily demand of having three kids under three. And now it’s going to be four kids under three.”

They all started to talk but I interrupted them, “It’s okay though, Justin and I will get through it, just like we did with Aniston. And the twins.” I started to get out of bed. “Thanks for letting me sleep here last night, Sel. And thanks for this girl time, but I need to go home. Justin and I have a lot to talk about, and I miss my kids.”

“Maddie,” Selena grabbed me by my arm. “Are you sure you are okay?”

“I’m fine.” I smiled, hoping she wouldn’t see through the fakeness.

Justin’s POV

Selena called again early in the morning to let me know that Madelyn was on her way home. She said she was much better, but I found that hard to believe. It was only eight, so I fell right back to sleep after I talked to her.

I woke up at nine-thirty when I heard the twins crying in their room. I carried them both downstairs to get breakfast, expecting to see Madelyn there. I set them down and checked outside. Her car wasn’t in the driveway. She hadn’t come home.
