Madelyn’s POV

“How was lunch?” Justin asked as I walked inside.

            “Great! I got a job!” I smiled.

“What?!” He yelled. I couldn’t tell if he was surprised or angry.

“Selena and I are going to host a morning talk show on ABC starting in the fall. We have a meeting tomorrow to go over the details.”

“Madelyn! What about the kids? Who is going to stay home with them?”

“Well, Selena has already had it okayed that we can bring the new babies to work with us. The network wants us so badly, they have already hired a nanny service to be on set with us! Isn’t that fantastic?”

“You realize we have three other kids?”

“Between Paige and your mom, we almost always have someone here every morning anyways. I’ll be home by noon everyday. And you don’t have any movies lined up for the fall yet.”

“I don’t know about this Madelyn.” He sat down on the couch to ponder it.

Justin’s POV

“Please.” Madelyn sat down next to me. “I know you don’t understand this, but I want to do something with my life. I gave up my career to be a stay at home mom, and I thought I would love it. But I just want something else. I am going to go crazy just sitting around the house all day. Especially with four kids. I need time for me, and I think this is the perfect opportunity.”

I could kind of understand that. How could I keep her from chasing her dreams after she had constantly encouraged me to pursue mine for the last ten years?

“That’s why I was so upset about this baby. Because I figured once the kids were all in school, I could do something else, and that excited me to no end. But then, the baby set my dreams back five more years, and that scared me to death.”

“Mads,” I put my arm around her and pulled her into my chest. She didn’t even try to fight me. “Why didn’t you tell me you wanted a job?”

“Because we always agreed that I would stay home with the kids. I didn’t want to go back on that agreement.”

“Well, if this is something you really want to do, we’ll make it work. You have supported my dreams for so long, I will support you in whatever you want to do.”

“Thank you, babe.” She kissed my cheek.

“So are you feeling better about this baby now?” I laid my hand on her stomach that had nearly doubled in size in the last few weeks. It was amazing we were still able to keep it hidden.

“Well now that I know its not going to keep me from chasing my dreams, I guess I might not be as upset about it.” She smiled for the first time in months. This was also the first time we had been able to have a real conversation that didn’t end in yelling or doors slamming. We were making progress, slowly but surely.

Madelyn’s POV

“So do you think we should announce the pregnancy soon? Its getting a little obvious.” Justin smirked. I was standing in my closet in just a towel. Justin and I were going to have a date night to celebrate my new job, but I couldn’t find anything to wear that would hide the bump. He was standing in the doorway, laughing at me as I tried on outfit after outfit.
