Justin’s POV
“Madelyn. You don’t mean that.” I said desperately. I didn’t want to sleep in the guesthouse. I wanted to sleep in my bed, with her by my side.
“Hey guys,” she knelt down and looked at the kids who were still clinging to her, “why don’t you go play downstairs so Daddy and I can talk.” They all looked weary. They didn’t want to let go of her, but finally they did as she said.
“I do.” She stood up and crossed her arms above her stomach, which had gotten even bigger in the last few weeks, and waited to see what I would do.
“I’m so sorry.” I pleaded.
“Sorry? Justin! You had me checked into rehab! And on top of that, you kept my kids away from me! Sorry doesn’t cover it.”
“I thought I was doing what was best for you!” I yelled.
“Well you weren’t! You didn’t trust me, and that’s what hurt the most.” That stung. “I can’t be with someone who doesn’t trust me.”
“Fine.” I said, giving up. I slammed the back door and went out to the guesthouse, my new home.
Madelyn’s POV
“Okay guys, let’s go get ready for bed.” I told the kids who had luckily missed the whole fight. I didn’t want them to see Justin and I fighting. They had already been through so much in the last few weeks.
“Can I sleep with you?” Aniston smiled mischievously at me.
“Why not?” I smiled. I had been sleeping in bed alone for the last two weeks at Passages and I hated it. Now that I wouldn’t have Justin in bed with me, I could use some company.
“Me too!” Stella yelled.
“And me!” Kingston cried.
“Alright. We can all sleep in Mommy’s bed. Go brush your teeth and put on pajamas, okay?” They all ran to their respective bathrooms to do as I told them. Within a couple of minutes they were all in bed beside me. It felt so good to be home, in my bed, with all of my kids.
“Mommy?” Aniston whispered as she looked up at me with her big blue eyes. Stella and Kingston were already sound asleep. I thought Aniston was asleep too, but she wasn’t.
“Yes baby?”
“Daddy didn’t braid my hair like you do while you were gone.” She pouted.
“That’s kind of a Mommy thing.” I laughed. “Did you have a fun time with Daddy besides that?” I expected her to say yes. Since she was a baby she had always been a Daddy’s girl.
“I guess, but I missed you lots.”
“Oh, I know. I missed you more than you will ever know.” I pulled her closer to me.
“I love you.” She said sadly. “Don’t leave me again.”
“Never.” I kissed her forehead.
Justin’s POV
I didn’t sleep at all my first night in the guesthouse. I tossed and turned all night. Several times I woke up screaming and crying more than once. I had sworn to myself after Madelyn came back from Italy that I wouldn’t ever let her go again, and now she was slipping right out from my grasp. I didn’t know how to get her back.
