Madelyn’s POV
The next day I decided to tackle the nursery. I had less than a week, but I didn’t think it was going to be too difficult. Justin had already put one of the twins’ cribs back together and moved their beds out of their old room to make it the new nursery.
“What do you think Stella, does it need more blue?” I asked. She was watching me transform the guest bedroom into Kingston’s new room. The gray walls were perfect with the blue bedding I had picked out. But it didn’t exactly look like a little boys room yet, it was still too mature and grown up. But I would add to it as I found more décor I liked.
“No Annie.” She crossed her arms and gave me a pouty face. We had completely rearranged their bedrooms. Aniston and Stella were roommates now. Kingston was in his newly designed room, formerly our guest bedroom and the new baby was going in Stella and Kingston’s old nursery.
“But where will the new baby live if you don’t share a room with Annie?” She had been pouting all morning since she figured out she was going to share a room with Aniston now. I really hadn’t thought she would care, or understand, but she was being a pill about it.
“On the street. No baby!”
“Stella, you are going to be an awesome big sister once you realize how much fun it’s going to be.”
“No!” She squealed and stuck her tongue out. I just laughed it off. She was coming to realize that when the baby got here, she wouldn’t be the center of attention anymore. Even though she already had a brother and a sister, she had figured out how to be the center of attention at all times whether it was hitting Aniston or biting Kingston.
“How about we go spend some girl time together tomorrow? Just you, me and Aniston? Before the new baby gets here?” I asked her, hoping to change her mind about the baby.
“Okay!” She squealed and ran off. I just laughed.
Justin’s POV
“Can you take Kingston today? We are going to go have a girls day out, and I know he would hate it.” Madelyn asked as I walked into the house to get something to eat.
“Sure.” I smiled. Kingston and I rarely got time to do boy stuff. I didn’t know what we were going to do, but it was going to be fun.
“Let’s go have some fun, kid.” I picked him up from the floor and carried him out the door.
“Yeah! Let’s have fun, dude!” He laughed. Dude was his new word and he said it all the time. But it was adorable.
Madelyn’s POV
First, we went to the American Girl Place. I let the girls both pick out a doll. It was something Justin and I had talked about doing for their birthdays, but just hadn’t gotten around to it. Kenny was with us, and he thought the store was absolutely ridiculous.
“I’m going to name mine Mads.” Aniston smiled at me. She was such a sweetheart.
“This is Jesus.” Stella held hers up proudly.
“Jesus?” I laughed. “Why don’t you think about a girl name?”
“Stella!” She yelled. She was so funny. That girl kept me laughing all the time. After they each had a doll, we went to find outfits for them. The store had as many clothes as a normal clothing store, so they were overwhelmed by decisions.
