Violet's P.O.V

I woke up tired but feeling way better than last time. Next to me was Josh. He was looking in vain with neutral face expression. He turned his head and looked at me, not knowing what to do or say.

"Are you feeling better?" he carefully asked picking up my hand and examining the place where I've been cut.

"Josh... I-" I started, but stopped because my voice started breaking. I didn't want to be away from him anymore. He has always been there for me, any problem I'd have. I missed him a lot and this whole month in Detroit I couldn't get my mind off him and I felt incomplete. But now that he was here, I was feeling safe and complete again.

"Violet, I am sorry, but I wasn't talking about you. The one I was talking about was that girl from '99 that kept calling me. Not you. Believe me." he begged.

That was all I needed to hear. Because I wasn't sure in the first place if he was talking about me or not, and I believed him. I wanted to jump up and down from the happiness that replaced that empty feeling I had in my heart. In the moment I tried to get up, I was instantly pushed back by a sharp pain through my whole body, making me whimper in pain.

"Are you alright?" Josh asked again, checking if something happened to me.

"I'm fine." I answered and took in a deep breath. With slow moves, I approached Josh, who was sitting in the other part of the large bed. "Josh, I am so sorry for leaving. It was a stupid decision. I truly am sorry. And I have missed you. A fucking lot." I cried, smashing my face in the pillow where he was resting his arm.

Josh gently picked up my face caressing my cheeks with both of his thumbs and wiping the tears off them. "I've missed you too. So much." he let out a soft sob.

A loud knock on the door caused me to flinch and retreat to the spot where I've been before, feeling the same heavy pain again. Josh got up and ran to the door and opened it.

"Hey. How's Violet feeling?" I heard Anthony saying with a slightly worried voice.

I saw Anthony coming in the room where I was, being followed by Josh.

"Anthony, my parents! They sent me to buy some stuff and I didn't come back! They must be worried sick! And for how long have I been here?" I asked realizing how confused I was because outside was night and I didn't remember how long have I slept.

"Don't worry about your parents. I've already talked to them. They know." he started and looked at me. "On your phone- you had a phone number dialed. And I called at that number and it was your brother, Sam, right? And I asked for any of your parents and your mother asked me to go over and tell them everything." he clarified.

"And you've been here for almost two days. You've slept almost a day after I've brought you here, then you woke up and went to sleep again until now." Josh added.

"Are you better?" Anthony asked again checking me out.

"Yes, thanks."

"Good, I'll leave now because it's been a long day and I'm tired. Take care, kiddo." he said, slightly ruffling my hair, then left the room, being again left only with Josh.

"So..." Josh cleared his throat, staying on the bed next to me, nervously playing with his fingers. This was remembering me about the first weeks after we've met- nervous. "I am so sorry, I hope you can forgive me." he let a tear fall down his cheek and this broke my heart.

I crawled towards where he was and wrapped my arms around his shoulder and buried my face in his chest and I could feel the smell of his cologne. His heart was beating rapidly, but soon returned to the normal rhythm. I closed my eyes and stood like that in silence. I missed this comfortable silence. I felt Josh's hand slightly rubbing my back.
