Chapter 2: First Day

   Lapis woke to the horrendous pounding of her alarm clock. She sighed and pressed the dismiss button and got out of bed. This day is going to suck.
    She got dressed in a blue t-shirt and some shorts and called it a day. Lapis went downstairs and ate some cereal, Lucky Charms to be specific. She woke up her mom and said good bye and headed off to school.
    When Lapis arrived, she couldn't help but notice that Jasper was standing with her gang of jerks as usual. She tried to sneak past them by hiding in a large crowd of people, but as soon as she steped within a thirty foot radious of Jasper, Jasper looked up and saw her. She started walking towards Lapis in a somewhat calm manner. Lapis ran as fast as she could, but she soon felt a cold hand on her shoulder. She turned around and saw that it was Jasper. Is this how I die?!?!
"Lapis" Jasper said softly.
Lapis immediately ran away, and looked back once, only to see Jasper standing at the front of the school. Why isn't she trying to kill me?!?! While she was running, she looked ahead again only to see a blured green thing in front of her. CRASH!
"Oh my goodness I'm so sorry!" Lapis blurted out without looking at who she bumped into.
"No, it's fine! Just scared me is all." Said a slightly high pitched and familiar sounding voice.
  It was Peridot, one of Jasper's jerk friends that would tease Lapis sometimes.
"Oh...Peridot. Umm." Lapis said feeling a little less sorry for bumping into Peridot.
  "Oh hello Lazuli! Nice to see you again!" Said Peridot cheerfully after finally looking up to see who bumped into her.
  Lapis didn't even respond to Peridot, she just got up and walked away.
"Hey! Wait! Come back! I wanna tell you something!" Peridot shouted while getting up and running after Lapis.
  Lapis just kept walking and tried to find her classroom. Peridot finally caught up and said while gasping, "H-hey, why are you... trying to r-run away?"
"Gee, for having short legs, you sure can rin fast." Lapis muttered.
"You don't have to be rude to me, all I wanted to do is tell you that I'm sorry for teasing you and being Jasper's friend!" Peridot said while crissing her arms.
  Lapis shuddered at the sound of Jasper's name and said, "Oh is that so? Well if you really want to make it up to me, I say you should just leave me alone!"
Peridot just stood there and froze. Finally after a minute or two she said, "Fine." and walked away.

*Time skip!

After all of her classes, Lapis started walking home, but as she was walking, she heard someone say her name. She shrugged it off until she heard it again. Finally she turned and saw Jasper. But before she could run, Jasper grabbed her arm and went down to her knees. "Please Lapis! Take me back! I've changed! I can be better to you!" She begged.
Lapis was very confused, and she could only stare at Jasper.
Finally she said, "No Jasper. I can't do this again..."
Jasper's face turned into a nasty look of hate. "Fine, you wanna be petty, I'll be petty too." Jasper raised her hand to hit her, but before she could, they heard someone shout, "WAIT! DON'T HURT HER!!!!"
It was Peridot.
