"Get up," Nathan demands.
"What?"
"Get up."
Curiously, I put the small word search puzzle back into my purse and stand beside Nathan. I follow his glance, which was on the fire escape panel at the top of the elevator shaft.
"No way!" I shout, putting distance between us.
"Why not?"
"Because the elevator is already slightly off of the pulley system and I have awful balance."
"But you're the only one that could get us out of here. You won't be able to lift me up, so that leaves you going up there," He explains, giving me a sad face as if that alone will convince me.
"Okay."
"Okay? You'll do it?"
"Yeah, let's just get this over with."
