Nathan pushes against the roof of the elevator shaft, which slides the metal panel forward. His emerald eyes look down on me as I shine my phone light in his direction. In some way, it almost felt like the universe wanted Nathan and I to be trapped in here together. I don't know why, but something about him feels familiar and soft.
"Are you ready?" He questions, offering me a hand so I can get up from the floor, which I take.
"So what do I do when I get up there?" I question, looking up at the hole in the ceiling with much distrust.
Nathan shrugs. "I'm not really sure, to be honest."
