Season 1, Episode 10 [Going Nuclear]

"Is this entire state uphill?" Murphy complains as we treck through the forest- under the navigation of Warren.

We hike through the trees, so the hot sun doesn't bother us really- unless we come upon a clearing where it glares down upon us. Currently, I'm seriously debating tying Murphy to a tree and leaving him. He complains too much, yeah sure he brought us food and water that one time, but this seriously isn't worth it.

"Where are we anyway?" He asks.

"According to this map we're in the Black Hills of South Dakota," Warren tells him.

"I miss the truck," Cassandra says.

     "Who doesn't?" I sigh.

"At least we're out of that damn hoard," Warren points out.

"There's nothing to kill out here," 10k complains, I nod in agreement, swinging my rifle onto my back- I held it in the hope that something would jump out at us, but no such luck.

"That's fine by me," Warren says.

"We need to find a place to make camp soon, my dogs are getting tired," Doc says.

"Well, there's supposed to be a little town near here called Edgemont. I'll take a compass reading at the next ridge up here," Warren tells us.

"Can't we just take a break?" Doc asks.

     "A quick one," Warren agrees.

"Oh my god, look," Cassandra says once we get to the top of the ridge, nodding towards the view.

There, before us, is Mount Rushmore, spray painted so that the heads of our late presidents look zombified- there is also a 'no Z' symbol up there. But it looks pretty damn awesome.

     "Wicked," I say in awe.

"Now who in the hell did that?" Warren asks.

"Some daredevil with a can of spraypaint," Doc observes.

"Is that Mount Rushmore?" 10k asks.

     "Yep," I tell him.

"This is why we can't have nice things," says Murphy.

I lean over to Cassandra; "I swear if he opens his mouth one more time I might pike him," I tell her.

"He's Murphy, we all feel that way. Don't let him get to you," she kindly advises.

"Probably the same jackass that tagged the Liberty bell," Doc says.

"Wait- the Liberty bell?" I ask, turning to the girl next to me.

"It's a long story- I'll tell you later," Cassandra tells me.

I shrug and turn back to the mountain.

"I think it's awesome," 10k says, I nod in agreement.

Doc punches 10k's shoulder in disappointment.

"If I ever catch who did that, they gonna get a whooping," Warren states. "Come on, let's find that town- it's going to get dark soon," she says, looking at the sky. She's right- the sun is nearing the horizon and we have maybe a couple hours left of daylight. Another thing my uncle taught me; how to read the sun- that though strikes me sour and I gulp down the tension in my throat and turn to Warren who turns and heads up the hill.
