"Catch the bus today." My mother ordered, much to my dismay.

The rain was very heavy, to say the least, as the droplets shot onto the umbrella I had been carrying. There were a few other kids at the bus stop.

Closing up my drenched umbrella, I hurried under the shelter and cozied into a spot at the end of the seat. The street even across the road was barely visible from where I sat. I huffed, an icy cloud also emanating from my mouth.

The bright yellow bus finally came after 10 minutes of me shivering in the rainy day. As usual, I avoided all eye contact and dashed straight for the back of the bus, and plunked into a seat for two, alone.

Bus rides always made me feel alone.

As I untangled my earphones and prepared to blast music into my ear to forget about my boring existence, a deep voice sliced through my thoughts.

"May I sit here?" He asked
