Scarlet's POV

As I waxed up my surfboard for an early morning surf, I quietly hummed Wings by Little Mix.

When I finished, I grabbed and put on a pink bikini, my thongs and my board. I threw my hair up in a high, messy bun.

I took one last look at my apartment, before closing the door. I waited as the elevator took me from the top floor, to the bottom floor. I got out and made my way across the hot road, to the beach.

I was about to step onto the welcoming, warm sand, when someone tall and muscly dressed in black stopped me.

I looked up, to be face to face with a security guard.

"What seems to be the problem, sir?" I asked innocently, with a polite smile.

He shook his head.

"Do you not see all the screaming girls everywhere?" He raised an eyebrow.

It was then I realised it.

Nearly all of the edge of the beach was covered in screaming girls.

"Wha..." I squinted.

"We've closed off the beach- there's... Special people in there...." He chuckled.

"What? No! You can't take my morning surf away from me!" I yelled, not caring who the special people may be.

"Darling I'm sorry-" he started, but got interrupted by a familiar, British accent.

"Mate, it's okay. I know her."

I looked over, to see a mop of curls.

My breath hitched. He was so...

intriguing.

"Alright." the security guard put his hands up in defence, and walked towards a mob of screaming girls.

The green eyes stared directly into my hazel ones.

"Coming, love?"

I stared blankly at him.

"Come on!" He yelled impatiently, holding out his hand.

I hesitantly took his hand. He rolled his eyes. I clumsily dropped my board, him chuckling. I stared it him as he picked it up and held it under his arm.

All the girls around us started screaming rude things my way, making my blank stare turn into a frown.

"Don't worry about them." he whispered in my ear, his warm breath sending chills down my spine.

I walked me over to four other guys, who were surrounded by 3 security guards. When I got over there, the guards looked at me, but then saw Harry's hand attached to mine.

"Hey boys." He smiled.

"Is this the girl?" One smiled at me excitedly.

I know these people. How do I know these people?

"I'm sorry, what?" I said shyly, my head snapping to the one that got me. His cheeks went red.

"Well..." He smirked, "I spotted you surfing a couple of days ago. I thought you were beautiful."

I looked at the ground.

"So... What's your name, love?" Another guy asked me.

"Scarlet..." I whispered, still staring at my feet.

"That's a nice name. I'm Harry, that's Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn," 'Harry' told me, "We're all in a band."

I took a while to process, before my eyes widened in realisation. One Direction. The worlds biggest boy band. My jaw dropped and I gasped.

They all stared at me.

"I'm sorry..." I whispered, "I... I didn't know."

The security guards staring at me with shock.

"So... do you live under a rock or something?" Louis laughed.

I giggled, "No. I just don't obsess over you guys."

They all stayed silent.

"I uh.... I'm sorry to interrupt our greeting, but," I grabbed my surfboard, "I need those waves." I whispered shyly again.

I could feel their eyes on me as I turned my back and dived into the cold, blue water.

I paddled far out back, floating over the waves that yet still have to be crashed.

I turned my head back, and saw the others in a conversation, but Harry staring at me intensely, his lip between his teeth.

I shook my head and stared out at the horizon. I know who they are, yes. But I don't know who they really are.

I mean, what kind of person, famous person, may I add - drags you into their space, while all you want to do is surf! Okay, I did go out on the security guard little - okay, a lot. But I'm just really passionate about surfing.

I large up coming wave caught my eye, and I soon caught onto it. I stood up and closed my eyes, enjoying the salty air in my face. The wave came to an end, and I caught a few more waves, before coming into shore.

Harry's POV

I couldn't help myself!

When I heard someone yelling at the guard, I looked straight over there, seeing that girl that fell off her board.

I just had to go and get her.

And I did, and I wasn't regretting it at all. She seems pretty... I don't know. Secretive. Mysterious. Dark. Dangerous... Scarlet makes me want to step out of my comfort zone.

That's such a pretty name. Scarlet.

I couldn't help but stare at her enjoying the waves. She looked stunning.

I watched as she came in. Then everything in my world turned slow.

Her skinny tanned body slowly came up, as she smiled showing beautiful pearly whites. Her wet hair blew off her neck, and behind her. She looked beautiful.

I really need to know this girl.

I really don't take chances with girls. I just stare at them until they move away.

This is a chance I'm willing to take. Because you know what they say...

We only regret the chances we didn't take.
