Now I searched up Alex Torrinento. I found his Facebook page. My heart was beating still rapidly. Was I about to discover my dad?

I clicked on the link. It led me to the Facebook home page of Alex Torrinento's account. I checked out his birth date. He was born in..... 1961? That wasn't right, it said he was 19 in the news article. I did the math, he would have been born in 1976.

I searched up his name again not finding a single thing. The only person who might know was Amy.

The next morning me and Amy sat down for breakfast. I had a quick bagel.

There was silence between us. I couldn't figure out what to say to her to bring up my mother.

"Lisa Lorensen," I spat out.

Amy glanced at me briefly. It seemed like hours before she replied.

"Im sorry," Amy told me, her voice trembling. She let out a deep sigh.

I bet she felt like crying too. I got up and hugged her. Of course I wasn't mad. I didn't blame her.

We both cried. We hugged for what seemed like a long, long time. Just then, as we let go of each other, Amy pulled of her bandana (which she had been wearing for the past few days).

At that moment I could barely look at her. Amy's hair was almost completely gone. Her beautiful blond hair was now patches of thin, unhealthy looking hair.

Then it hit me.

Amy had cancer.

We both fell to our knees, sobbing.

"I'm sorry," Amy was able to say, her voice trembling, her body shaking. "I'm sick."

I nodded. I looked at her face. "You'll be alright."

"We're with each other."
