Chapter 7

I woke up to the bright sun shining through the glass doors into my bedroom. Downstairs I heard sizzling like Amy was cooking. I ran my hands through my hair and headed downstairs. 

Downstairs Amy was cooking bacon and scrambled eggs. The only bacon I've had is uncooked in the orphanage. I couldn't wait to taste something good for once in my life. 

I pat Estelle and Brutus on the head. Brutus was chowing down his dog food and Estelle was on her cat tower. 

"Good morning honey! How'd you sleep?" Amy asked me.

I'd been waiting to hear those words my whole life. I felt like crying of joy again.

"Good! When's the food gonna be ready?" I asked her. I was starving.

Soon I was sitting on the bar stool in the kitchen with Amy across me. I ate my breakfast so quickly I almost forgot I ate it. It was so good! Finally something cooked. Brutus was sticking his nose around my plate.

"Oh shoo!" Amy said to Brutus. We laughed. Estelle rolled on her back seeming to laugh too.

Soon we finished breakfast. Cleaning after eating was a habit now.

"Would you like me to clean up?" I asked Amy.

"No, no sweetie! I can do that."

It was great to not have to clean hundreds of tables everyday. But now I didn't know what to do. There is certainly a lot of things to do but where do I start. Do I play all the video games? Do I read all the books? Do I look through all the TV channels? Do I take Brutus for a walk? For once I had a choice of what to do.

"So what do you want to do today? We can go the movies if you want," Amy said, "I know a good movie out!"

The only movies I'd watch is at the "fun" room back in the orphanage.

"Yeah! That sounds awesome!" I replied.

We hopped into the car and drove off.

Just a few minutes later we stopped at a red light.

Suddenly, a car came swirling out from the right...
