When Tristan's alarm went off three days later, he just about threw his phone across the room. Today was a glorious Monday, also the day that the Coucil and the U.N. were going to meet with the Avengers in London- and when they say Avengers, they meant the ones that 'really matter'. So, not Tristan. At this point, he didn't care; the meeting would most-likely last the entire day and consist of the governments of the world giving out another list of what the Avengers can and cannot do. However, he would have gladly taken the meeting over going to school.
Groaning angrily, he rolled out of the bed, his sore muscles screaming in pain as he slouched to the bathroom. His entire body still hurt from the battle, though Austin probably felt worse (he did get slammed into a fifty-foot window from the ground).
The hot water stung the scrapes covering his body, but at least his bruises had started to lighten a tad. He spent around an hour in the shower, just trying not to think about the events that had transpired. Eventually, he dragged himself out and threw on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He did put some effort into his hair, gelling it back into place so that it would stay out of his face.
Grabbing his backpack and his leather jacket, he made his way down the hall.
Chloe was up, still in her pajamas, she sat cross-legged on her bed with a pencil in her mouth and her blonde hair up in a messy bun. On her bed were several stacks of papers.
"Homework?" he asked, eyeing the paper.
She looked up at him in surprise,
"Homework, are you kidding me? Who actually does the homework?" she asked," No, this"- she swept a hand over her work-" is for my Halloween party."
"Your Halloween Party?" Tristan raised an eyebrow.
"Yes! The school always has one, and since I missed out on the decade dance I have to be at this one!" she exclaimed.
He chuckled, it was almost as if she hadn't been kidnapped and tortured for two months. She had started looking better after an hour of being awake when they'd brought her in, so Tristan managed to convince Bruce to move her to a bedroom where she could actually relax a little bit. She still looked tired and the bruises were still very vibrant, but she had energy and was in a good mood, so that was good enough for him.
"Alright, well I actually have to get to school," he informed her with a roll of his dark eyes.
"Oh! Will you take these?" She pulled out a stack of papers," They're fliers. I've already talked to the school board, so I already have the date set."
He fought the urge to laugh out loud as he took the Halloween-y fliers and put them in his bag; after bidding her goodbye, he went downstairs.
Everyone else seemed to be feeling as awful as he did, not to mention that each one of them looked as though they'd been through a shredder. Kiki, who had just gotten back with Pepper from a weekend at the Pentagon, was the only one of them not covered in painful injuries.
"You think you're going to make it?" she asked Tristan gently as she climbed into his Ferrari.
He chuckled humorlessly," Nope."
He and Austin waited two minutes before the final bell to enter the building and sprint to their first period, they were exhausted as it was, being swarmed by teenage girls at the moment didn't even appeal to Tristan.
They slid into their seats as the bell rang, Tristan letting out a long breath as he sat back in his desk in the back of Mr. Hernandez's classroom. Pretty much the entire class had put their heads together as soon as he and Austin had walked into the room, and every few seconds a group would look back at them.
