Nobody liked college. It was basically the extension of school and the stress and assignments to be completed within deadlines were in better clarity, which annoyed the living hell out of you. You groaned as you heard the alarm ring again for the fifth time that morning, the sun glaring through the window as you rolled around in bed, too lazy to bother getting up.
"Haul that lazy ass and have your breakfast, Y/N," Your friend's voice called from the kitchen. The delicious smell of his cooking wafted to your nose just in cue. Your joints ached as you got up, cursing him for having made you work out yesterday. But all he'd said when you complained to him non-stop was, "All you do is munch, drink and hibernate all day. We gotta change that...and that," He had said, eyeing the ice cream that had gotten to your cheeks, god knows how.
You were sure you weren't going to let him take you to the gym again but he was one adamant dick. So all you could do was dread that moment, shall it come.
Arms wrapped around your semi-groggy state as you entered the kitchen, fresh mint breath hitting your cheek as he kissed it followed by a chirpy "Good morning!"
You grunted in response and slumped onto a chair, waiting for food. "How you manage to be so...lively in the morning hours of Monday, will always remain a mystery to me."
Seokjin placed a plate in front of, taking his seat across yours. You were just about to dig in when he interrupted you.
"You always manage to be grumpy which burns down my good mood as well - and that's saying something," He said, brows raised as though he were briefly impressed.
"But I intend to change that, so here goes, Y/N," He cleared his throat before carrying on, "How does a cow laugh?"
Your eyes were open by now, and you made sure to roll them as dramatically as possible.
"Please, Seokjin-
"Moo-ha-ha," He said before laughing so loud and obnoxiously that it infected you and made you laugh as well, albeit it was one of the worst jokes he'd ever made till date.
"You never fail to depress me, Jin, but I swear, one more of those-" You stabbed your omelette to emphasize, "-and I'm killing you."
It was an emoty threat, and he knew it. So all he did was shrug his shoulders in response, before reaching for a slice of bread.
"Calm, Lolita," calling you by the nickname he'd given you based on an observation he'd made when you first met. His reason was that no matter how you dressed, there was always an element of a gothic style to it. Even if you were to wear a sundress on a warm, pleasant summer morning, you'd probably pair it with contrasting chokers and a dark shade of eye shadow and probably wear combat boots.
"You could do this instead," and he positioned the slice like he was holding a gun and pretended to aim it at you before saying, "Bang!"
You sighed heavily, exasperation clouding your mind as you ate silently, his laugh still ringing in your ears even as you washed the dishes. He only stopped when you threatened to break the plates.
He was born to make such corny jokes, and being the good friend you were, you let him use you as his test subject before he presented the not-so-funny jokes to prospective victims.
In the next half hour that followed, you'd both readied yourself for your classes when your phone rang, the ID identifying it as your brother.
"Jungkook? Aren't you supposed to be training right now?" You spoke into the phone as you eyed your watch.
"Uhh...well, something came up and...I was- we were wondering if you could um, you know...?" He trailed off, and you could tell he was nervous. But all you did was roll your eyes.
"No, Kook, I don't know. And I won;t unless you tell me. Quick, or I'll be late for class," You sighed into the phone as you signaled to Jin to wait a bit longer. He tapped his foot impatiently as he leaned against the threshold.
"Give me that-" You heard Jimin's voice interrupting briefly. "We were wondering if you could drop us to the agency, Y/N."
"What? But you have-"
"Yeah, we missed the bus and there isn't another until a lot later so..."
You sighed as you pinched the bridge of your nose. You were already late, and you couldn't be later.
"Alright, I'm already late for class, so I'll ask Jin to drop you guys. Okay?"
"Okay, thanks!"
You put your phone back into your pocket before fishing for the keys to your locked bicycle. When you heard the sound of Seokjin clearing hsi throat, you looked up, a lopsided smile offering sympathy as you took in his displeased face.
"You're not the only one late to class, you know," He said, arms crossing over his chest.
You began making your way out of the flat, "Yeah, but mine starts in five minutes and yours in ten, so drive safe!" You exclaimed before dashing towards the elevators.
"YEAH, FUCK YOU TOO, Y/N!" You heard Jin's voice as the elevator doors close shut.
It was a pretty dramatic entrance you'd made when you pushed the doors open so wide in class, it was as if your life depended on making it on time. It pretty much did.
The professor stopped mid-sentence and glared at you as you stood there like an idiot, your lips pressed into an attempted smile. She grumbled, "That's the second time this week, Y/N. If you want to remain here, you should learn to make it on time," before carrying on with the class.
You exhaled heavily, your heart racing as you tiptoed your way into one of the benches at the back of the class. When you finally settled on your seat, with your books out, you almost jumped out of your skin when a familiar voice whispered in your ear, "Wanna have that date today, Y/N?"
A hand clutching onto your chest, you turned to face him before aggressively whispering, "Not today, Hoseok. Let me listen." As you turned back around, you heard a loud huff.
'You work where, again?' Hoseok asked you before sitting beside you under the tree.
'A café, Hoseok. Café. Do you want me to spell it out? C-A-F-' You began, but he interrupted you.
'Yeah, alright! I get it, I'm not dumb, Y/N.' He rolled his eyes, taking a bite off his burger.
'Why do even eat that oil infused dump of dough?' You questioned as you looked the oily burger in his hand in disgust.
'Why? You want some?' He asked you playfully, showing his oily hand, threatening to hold your (very crisp and white) shirt.
'Hoseok! No! I have to go to work in this!' You said, laughing along with him, as you struggled to crawl away from him.
Another phone call interrupted both of you, your phone almost falling out your pocket.
'Wait a second,' you told him before getting up and walking away.
'Hello?'
'Y/N?'
'Jin Oppa?' You asked.
'I'm gay.' You heard silent, muffled laughs in the background along with his giggle before he cut the call.
'Okay?' You said, staring at your phone weirdly like he was there, before walking back to Hoseok.
