Jolting upwards, you felt your shirt stick to your body as cold sweat ran down your spine, your chest heaving. Not bothering to switch the table lamp beside you on, you hurried off the bed and almost fell onto your face as you struggled to free yourself from the comforter - a sudden sense of deja vu washed over you. Once it came off, you scurried to the door and opened it, immediately turning to your right and running off into the adjacent corridor. In the haste of finding some security, you found yourself in front of Yoongi's door - all thoughts regarding the possibility of waking him up flying out the window.

You knocked twice, and you heard Yoongi answering instantly, 'Come in'

You opened the door wide and almost closed it with a slam before walking up to him with long strides. His eyes widened as he noticed the hammering he was hearing so clearly was your heart thumping violently against your ribs. His mouth opened to ask what was wrong but you beat him to it as you crashed your body into his, your arms flying around his neck. Unable to support the sudden weight, he fell backwards onto the mattress, you falling along with him, nesting on his chest. A groan escaped at the pressure but you clung onto him irregardless.

He heard your muffled sobs and soon enough your body began trembling along with it. His hands were frozen in mid-air, clueless of where to place itself. He, for a second, considered calling Jin over here, since he'd know exactly how to calm you down - but he decided against it. In the few seconds of indecisiveness, he placed a hand against your head and the other on the small of your back - praying that would help.

He didn't question you again as he felt you calming down a great deal, but the sobs were still racking your body. It definitely had to be a bad dream, he supposed. You'd let him know if that were the case, in your own time. And he was right for thinking so, for you inhaled deeply and whispered so softly that Yoongi thanked for the sensitive hearing he had.

'I saw h-him, Yoongi...that man- Hijin, I s-saw him again. It was a dr-dream but it was so vivid. I thought- I thought I was going to die!' You cried harder into his chest and he flinched. He really wanted Jin to come here. But he patted your head, feeling slightly awkward. But that was washed away with sudden worry and fear for your safety.

'It's- it's alright, Y/N. He won't come here. It's not possible for him to. Don't worry. You're safe.' He calmed you down in the best way he knew. It took you a while to calm the heaving of your chest, and when you did, the reality of what you'd just done came crashing down on you. You pulled away, your hair falling to curtain your embarrassed face as you sniffled repeatedly, the moment of panic floating away. You felt the side beside you dip as Yoongi, too, shifted, sitting cross-legged beside you. You noticed him fidgeting with his hands, not having a clue about what to say, or do. You figured you owed him an apology at least -

'I'm sorry for barging in...it was too terrifying.' You blushed, your eyes still swollen as you slowly began feeling extremely stupid about your actions.

'It's completely fine. I wasn't sleeping anyway.' He assured you. He went back to scrolling on his phone for a while before switching it off and facing you completely. Oh, great.

'Hey, don't you have any family around here?' He asked silently. You expected yourself to get defensive over the subject - like you usually did - but for some reason you didn't know, you felt it would only be right to let him know. After all, he was keeping you safe for Taehyung, and perhaps for yourself.

'No, not really. All I have is my younger brother, who lives with his best friend.' You told him, and he nodded his head.

'Your parents? They don't live here or-'

'My mother passed away a year after I was born, and my father...well, I don't think he's alive. Even if he is, I wouldn't know.' It wasn't entirely a lie. You knew your father had passed away. And the death of your mother - it was a mystery to you since the very beginning. Your father had told you about your mother passing away after your birth, but with time, you'd understood not to trust him.

'I'm terribly sorry for your loss. I shouldn't have asked.' He apologized, looking the other way, towards the balcony. Then you felt breeze blow in, making you look at the balcony as well. It vaguely reminded you of the time Taehyung had sneaked into your room and kissed you. You really missed him.

'No, it's okay. It feels...better, being able to tell somebody else other than Jin, about myself.' A small smile fell onto your lips.

'So, you don't have any close friends, other than him?' He turned back to you with slightly wide eyes. You had to admit, he looked quite adorable without the cold aura around him. Perhaps he only opened himself up behind closed doors.

'Well, if you count my co-worker, then that's one more person in the list,' You chuckled, as he kept staring at you.

'You seemed very extroverted to me, though. I'm surprised you aren't,' He said in a small voice, making you laugh. Yes, you'd gotten that comment more times than ten in all your years of living.

You both stayed in silence for a while, a silence that was not at all awkward, just as comfortable it could be. It was then you felt the need to ask him about Namjoon.

'So, Namjoon - is he like you, a Red Blood?' Your curious eyes averted to his, that gazed straight ahead. A forgotten television stared right back at him.

'Yes, he's like a distant relative, you know?' He asked and you shook your head. You'd never had any relatives other than your parents and Jungkook to begin with.

'We have Clans in our family,' He began explaining, 'like small families in one huge family. So he's from one Clan, and I'm from another. Except, I'm directly related to Kimroe, whereas he is not.' You nodded, humming as you understood what he said. It was interesting, but it made you not want to dwell into the background further.

'Jin is his mate, you knew that right?' He asked, answering spot on to the question that swam in your head. Your head snapped to his direction, 'What?'

'Wait,' He let out a surprisingly merry chuckle that warmed your heart, 'It's so obvious, how did you not catch on? Are you honestly that dense?' He laughed heartily this time as you blushed really hard. You had to smack his arm around three times before he had finally stopped mocking you. You heard him breathe a satisfied sigh, it drowning into silence.

'But that's what's sad, actually.' He said, suddenly.

'Sad? How so?'

'Red Bloods aren't supposed to have human soul mates. It's like breaking a law. But that's what's funny; you can't choose your mate, and it's your own fault if your mate is somebody who is not acceptable.' He chuckled dryly, but the fact made your skin crawl.

'What do you mean - not acceptable? What will happen to Namjoon and Jin then?'

'I don't really know, Y/N. Such pairing is very, very rare. And this is the first time I've witnessed something like this, and as far as I've been told by my parents about such pairings...' He trailed off, and you tugged on his sleeve.

'What did they say?' You held onto his arm, anticipating another explanation. You just hoped it wasn't something that cost lives.

He shook his head before frowning, 'It's late, Y/N. Try getting some sleep. We need to be up and early tomorrow morning.'

'What, why?' You asked, completely forgetting about your unanswered question for once.

'Forgot about Taehyung already, I see.' He smirked at you, and you felt your heart drop to the floor.

True, you had forgotten about him, but when you were reminded of him, you couldn't help but feel helpless and empty. You suddenly felt a certain longing - for his smile, his touch. You began missing him, a void beginning to form in your heart. You felt a pang in your chest, making you clutch it. It didn't last too long, but as you saw Yoongi's worried expression, you knew it wasn't good.
