Taehyung hissed as his wing slowly attached itself onto his wound - his other wing finally in his possession. Groaning, he clutched the cloth under him for comfort. Perhaps if you were here- no. He wouldn't allow himself to lament over you. You'd every right to move on, and the last thing he'd want is to bring you here.
'All okay there, Taehyung?' Min Yoongi's husky voice reached his ears as the king of Kronell walked into the Healing Room. Unlike Taehyung, everybody else in the room were here for healing wounds from fires, whippings, sword fights - only to be inflicted later upon them. Taehyung groaned again, this time in response. Yoongi took it well as - that's the last thing on my mind right now.
Taking a seat beside the wounded Sinner, he placed a hand over Taehyung's fist that was holding on to the cloth. His grip loosened as though the touch comforted him. 'You're my only friend here - whom I've grown to care about. Please, don't die on me.' He mocked a pained tone, one that made Taehyung and himself chuckle.
'You've got some humor for a cold-heated person.' Taehyung strained, a hiss escaping right after. A grin split Yoongi's lips apart, 'I know.'
For someone as unapproachable as Yoongi, he would agree to Taehyung's retort. But he was serious - although he feigned a mocking tone - when he said Taehyung was his only friend.
He had come to meet Taehyung right after his first meeting with the other 'important' courtiers of the kingdom - and all of them made sure to criticize Yoongi for killing his father. Most notably the Leader of the Third Brother Clan. And it had escalated from there to his 'rebellious' friendship with a Sinner. But that's exactly why he'd even bothered to attend the meeting in the first place: so he could get rid of the conservatism in the ruling system. 'I didn't think you'd be just as biased with choosing a friend like you were with choosing your wife, Do Joon.' Yoongi had said, in response to the man's criticizing claim of 'breaking a golden law'. It had shut the entire meeting up, all the Leaders sending nervous glances to others they were in par with to bring Yoongi down and away from the throne.
Although no official announcement had been passed yet, Yoongi was almost sure the law forbidding relationships between Sinners and Red Bloods would be removed. And forgotten.
'How is she?' Yoongi asked, although he knew the answer. He'd visited Earth two times in the past four months, both times you being the reason. You were happy - but only on the exterior. You'd never let anyone see through that invisible barrier you'd put around yourself - not even your brother, Jungkook. He knew you were strong, but everyone had their limit. What was yours?
'How would I know.' Taehyung's voice came out clipped as he cleverly averted his gaze.
'Don't lie to me. I know where you've been running errands to.' He smirked, his stare still fixated on his friend. Rolling his brown eyes, Taehyung snarled at Yoongi. He was crossing his line. Shrugging his shoulders, Yoongi stood up, ready to leave when he said, 'Also, I think it's just a waste of time and energy to fix your wing.' He winked at the male before turning around and leaving the latter in confusion over the former's words.
Another two months had passed, and Taehyung's wings were as good as new. He felt stronger, and more importantly he was slowly learning to forget. He hadn't run his "errands" for a month now, and just as painful it was to admit it, he found himself being proud of the fact. It was while he was training a few younger Red Bloods in hand-to-hand combat when a Keeper came for Taehyung, 'The king wishes to meet you in his chamber.'
Taking the steps was the least of Taehyung's concerns. For one, he'd never been personally called to Yoongi's chamber for anything - even if the meeting was at it's maximum height of importance. It must be something that surpassed the limit that had Yoongi summoning the Sinner-cum-friend to his own room. He'd ditched the idea of using his legs by the thirtieth flight - and took to flying over the next twenty flights before landing in front of the black and golden door - beyond which the king was waiting for him. He had to admit, Yoongi's taste in colors were quite a match to his soul - although he couldn't place exactly why he liked gold. The man probably had his own reasons.
