Kimroe's voice bellowed so loudly that the people present in the assembly were almost expecting the walls to stumble down. The fire in his eyes were ablaze as Yoongi's cousin knelt in front of his uncle's throne - not even slightly guilty of helping Yoongi escape.
'You dare go against me, Mathew?' Kimroe glared at the younger Angel with detestable eyes. The guards of the Royal Dungeon were fools, but it was definitely wrong to think his uncle was one too.
Mathew's head remained bowed, barely any energy left in him to lift his head up, let alone his feet. He could hear his Mother sobbing at a distance, his Father - Kimroe's brother - keeping her at bay, encircling her body with his strong arms.
'I suggest you kill him, Brother.' A hoarse voice along with the clanking of metal sounded from beside Kimroe, the latter's head snapping to look at the source. Kimroe returned Hijin's smirk, both their intentions seeming to ring as compatible. And their intentions were anything at all but good. Mathew was very well aware of it.
'What, Hijin-' Mathew's Father began but Kimroe acted quick, bringing his hand up to silence him, him already having stood up from his seat.
'What your son did is unforgivable, Ki Young. Hijin is right. This boy will pay with his life.' Kimroe's voice sounded devoid of any emotion as he advanced down the steps of the altar to Mathew, who finally lifted his head up - if he was dying, he chose to die with dignity; something which apparently Yoongi's father never had. Not in the common sense of it, at least.
'My Lord, no!' Mathew's mother shouted, her hands fecklessly flailing around as she tried to escape from her husband's grip. But she watched with absolute terror as Kimroe made a movement so quick with his hand that it was all over in a flash: her son's body falling to the ground, his blood pooling under him from the deep slit made on his throat, the gurgling of blood bouncing off the walls repugnantly.
Nobody mourned the demise of the Angel but the parents who returned to their home without their son that night.
With a strict order to get rid of the body, Kimroe moved on to sending for his own son, Hoseok, who'd reported without any delay. Announcing that Hoseok was now to be trusted as the next of kin; protegee; heir, Kimroe let him off with just one instruction: 'Bring Yoongi and Y/N's little cadre to me, alive.'
It was no question you were to be put through the same ordeal.
It wasn't necessarily a grumpy morning you'd woken up to, but it was needless to say that it had definitely been quite a sad night for you. After Taehyung's confession - that's what you thought of it - it took a while before both of you had chosen to sleep, except it wasn't in his embrace that you'd closed your eyes. It took umpteen number of tosses and turns on the mattress with Taehyung's back facing you, tears silently streaming down your face as you did not want to burden him more. You didn't know what exactly he'd meant by saying he was leaving, neither did you want to find out. You figured you'd give him the space he so desperately looked like he needed, before you'd reach out to him.
It was terrifying waking up with a cold side beside you, but the whiff of his scent that traveled to your nostrils was slightly more promising. You were still groggy when you went downstairs into the kitchen, only to see Namjoon up and about with a cheerful Jin by his side.
'Namjoon!' You exclaimed, almost making him drop the cup of coffee that was in his hand as he turned around to greet you. Dimples dug into his cheeks as he smiled at you, you walking over to give him a light hug, aware of his wounds.
'Hey, Y/N. How are you?' Namjoon patted your head, his other holding onto the cup.
'I think I'm supposed to ask you that.' You joked, chuckling along with him. Jungkook and Jimin walked in no later, them both welcoming Namjoon in their own brotherly ways. It felt good to see the boys bonding in such a short time - considering the situation all of you had been in and still are in.
'Where's Taehyung? I was looking forward to meeting him.' Namjoon questioned as he carefully sipped his coffee, your smile faltering at the mention of his name.
You didn't know where he was; in fact, you'd come to kitchen in hopes of finding him. You were about to let out an 'I don't know' when a voice rang in your head.
"He's in my study." Yoongi. Your head throbbed for a few seconds - you definitely had to get used to them talking telepathically, or you were sure to bust a nerve. You just smiled awkwardly at Namjoon who nodded before leaving, possibly upstairs to Yoongi's study
Jin noticed very quickly something was bothering you since morning, because your face would lift into a smile when somebody was looking at you, it immediately dropping the moment they looked away or whenever Taehyung's name was mentioned. He'd tried to catch your eye a few times, so desperate to find out the cause of your distress that he'd even tripped over himself only to be caught by your brother. He watched you leave the table and he waited for a minute before following you.
As you walked down the corridor of the first floor, making your way to your room, a hand pulled at yours, dragging you into another room. A sharp gasp escaped your lips but you calmed down when you saw it was Jin.
'Don't do that, Jin. You scared me!' You tried to wave it off with a light laugh, your hand pressing to your forehead. You noticed he wasn't really taking the situation lightly, so you kept your mouth shut knowing something was up.
'Did something happen last night?' He asked after few moments of silence, your eyes wavering as you tried to decide whether or not to tell him the truth.
'Er - well, not really.' You mumbled, fiddling with your thumb as you looked down at your feet. Jin knew better; he knew when you were lying and when you weren't.
'Y/N,' His voice turned softer but remained stern, 'My boyfriend came back from the inevitable so don't think you can't talk to me about anything.' He walked up to you and put both his hands on your shoulders, instantly making you look up at him. He saw your eyes welling up with tears that you'd been fighting back to hide all along, and it just took one more question from him to make you sob into his chest.
You cried whilst narrating what had happened the previous night, how Taehyung had told you he was leaving and how he'd asked you questions that made no sense. You knew he loved you, yet, you were so sure - which scared you - that he was very close to making a hasty decision.
Jin had you wrapped in his arms the entire time, as he cooed comforting things into your ear that was beginning to calm you down. You felt your heart being clutched at the thought of Taehyung leaving you - he'd become an indispensable part of your life, and whether you liked it or not, you would never be able to forget him.
All the while, Taehyung was in Yoongi's study, 'Give me some time, Taehyung. I know there is something about you that my father knows but is hidden well from the rest of us.' Yoongi promised as he stood in front of Taehyung, who, according to Yoongi, looked absolutely wrecked.
'And I thought I asked you take care of Y/N?' He finally confronted him about you, Taehyung visibly flinching at the tone of Yoongi's sudden cold voice.
'I just- I had to tell her before it was too late. What if something happens and I don't get to-'
'Kim Taehyung, you idiot. You are supposed to be cherishing the moments you have with her - not spoil them, well at least not for now. It may be a few more days until Kimroe or anybody decides to trail us. Cherish her, Taehyung. Or else, I can promise you, you will regret it.' Yoongi's voice softened gradually as he recollected his own memories with his dear wife. He did not want Taehyung to go through the same, and so he made a promise to himself that whatever may happen, he would let Taehyung have the life he never did.
