Chapter 4

2 months later

Christopher could not get Rosemary out of his head and the problem with this was that each day she became more distant to him and closer to his brother and they were not even close to start with so it was hard. He had come to realize that Rosemary had heard what he said to his brother and he realized that Rosemary now knew he wanted nothing with her. The problem with this was that for some reason he didn't like that and he liked it even less that she was close to his brother.

Kevin had asked and asked and finally she had agreed to go out to dinner with him. It was her night off but more than anything he wanted to find a reason for her not to go.

Christopher was watching Mulan with Aries and Kevin was sitting there. Christopher could tell he was nervous and decided to not be a jerk.

"What's wrong?'

"I'm nervous."

"You the king of game, nervous I do not believe it!"

"She isn't a game... I don't know she just seems different you know what I mean."

Christopher looked at his hands "Yeah I know what you mean."

"Hey..." Kevin put his hands on Christopher shoulder "are you sure you are okay with me taking her out?"

"yeah of course." No! he wanted to yell but he knew he had dug his own grave and now had to deal with it.

A few minutes later they both heard Aries breath catch. "Wow!"

They both stood and turned to the stairs where Rosemary stood. She was wearing a red dress that went to a little below her knees it puffed out. At her waist was a black satin bow that tied in the back of her dress she had on some black heels and her hair was curled.

"Wow" they both said in unison.

Christopher took a step but Kevin was already taking her hand to help her down the last steps.

"You look amazing!" he laughed.

Rosemary smiled at him and looked at me waiting but I didn't say anything I did manage to see the disappointment in her eyes but she looked at Aries who jumped into her arms.

"You look beautiful Rosemary just like a princess." She kissed her cheek and smiled huge at her.

"Thank you but I still think you are more beautiful." She poked her stomach as she set her down.

"Where are you going with my uncle Kevin."

"She doesn't know yet pretty girl... I haven't told her it's a surprise." Kevin smiled at both Aries and Rosemary.

I smiled but in the pit of my stomach I felt pain as I saw her smiling joking around with my brother. Part of me wanted to grab her and yell at her and say no you should be with me but I knew that could never be I had made a promise to Arabella.

Rosemary looked up and caught me staring and straighten out. "Sir will you be okay with Aries?"

"I think I can handle one night." I smiled at her and we held eye contact for a second before she looked away to Aries.

"She was getting a little sick so maybe..."

"Nope! Stop!" Kevin laughed and held her hand. "Let's go they will be fine okay and if anything they have both of our numbers and they can call us but nothing will happen so let's go."

She smiled and kissed Aries "I promise to tell you everything." She winked and kissed her again on the cheek.

"okay" Aries laughed and let go of her hand which she had been holding go.

"This will sound weird but I feel like a mom who is leaving her kid for the first time... I am always with her." Rosemary smiled and kissed her again and backed up.

"Alright let's go." Kevin smiled and led her to the door where they walked out.

As soon as they walked out both and Christopher and Arabella ran to the window to watch them. After they drove away Arabella looked at Christopher with sad eyes "I wanted Rosemary to be my mommy not my aunt, daddy." She looked disappointed.

"Hey baby girl you have a mommy." He carried her into the living room.

"yeah but she's my heaven mommy, I want a here mommy."

"Hey baby... Rosemary loves you very much and that is not going to change."

"okay daddy." She looked disappointed as she crawled to the other side of the couch and covered herself in the blanket and turned to the movie.

"Come on..."

"Your crazy I am not getting on that motorcycle come on its just a short ride so that we can get to the restaurant and you do not have to walk to much farther.

"Fine." Rosemary sat on the back of the motorcycle. "but if you crash this I will kill you." Rosemary laughed and grabbed on to his waist as he drove.

"Admit it to me you loved the ride." Kevin laughed as they finished eating dinner. It had been a great dinner they had spent the whole time laughing and joking around. Kevin was surprised to find that he and Rosemary seemed to get along as a brother and sister would and not in any other sense and he could see she saw the same.

"Okay fine I did... but I won't be satisfied until you teach me to drive it." She laughed as she dug into a piece of chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

"Ill teach you for a piece of cake and ice cream." Kevin laughed.

"Then I guess I will never learn." She stuck another piece into her mouth.

"Wow no love for your fellow man." Kevin laughed shaking his head.

Kevin went to steal a piece and she jumped up with her plate and laughed.

"Mine Kevin get your own!" she laughed and jumped away glad they had decided to sit outside alone.

He pulled her down and was tickling her when her phone rang and she pulled away laughing. "let me..."

"Let it go to voicemail..." he continued tickling her as it rang again.

"It might be Christopher about Arabella just give me one second." She walked to her purse and pulled out her phone. "Hell... okay is she okay... what do you mean hospital."
