"Hey you" I heard the familiar voice say behind me.

I had been sitting on the beach waiting for Connor. Seemed like I've been waiting forever. He likes to take his sweet time.

We usually met up here, because he never lets me come over to his house. I've always liked it over there.

We've been friends forever, it seems like. He moved her when he was little. 'Here' as in Perth in Australia.

I got up and greeted him with a friendly hug.

"Hey man, I was about to ditch you. What's taken you so long?" I asked as I sat back down and patted the spot next to me indicating him to sit.

He sat down, but he didn't answer my question right away, rather looking at the ocean and thinking about his answer. I didn't really think much of it, but he seemed to want to answer carefully.

"Oh you know, it's just my dad again. He wanted some help with one of his boats. You know how he is with his boats." He finally said.

"No, I don't." I said abruptly. I didn't quite believe him. When you know someone for so long, you get to know when they're lying. I didn't know why he was lying, but I didn't want to be over dramatic. So I didn't push.

"You know when Dan's coming? I miss that posh lad." I asked to try to lighted the mood.

"I don't know," Connor answered. "I don't even know if he's coming at all. He didn't come last year. After he met that one dude Philip."

"He better. It's getting boring around here without entertainment."

"Hey what about me?" Connor said playfully.

"What about me?" I repeated, mimicking his American accent.

"I do not sound like that." He laughed, ruffling my hair.

We sat talked and laughed at pointless banter.

"Remember when we jumped off the jetty over there?" I asked.

"Yeah.. yeah I remember. We were what, 12?"

"That was such a thrill. I remember the adrenaline rush after." I said, smiling.

"My dad was pretty mad. It was worth it though." Connor said.

"We could do it again." I suggested playfully.

Connor laughed. "Not again. That was a one time adventure."

"Hey Troye?" Connor said after a while. "Can you sing something?"

"Why?" I laughed. He always wanted me to sing at random moments.

"C'mon man just do it. I need to soak it all in before you get famous and I only get to hear you through a blown/out stereo."

I laughed again. "Fine," I said. "What do you want me to sing?"

"That one cute little rap you're working on. I love it."

Smiling, I cleared my throats and started singing.
"Eat a pill stay and chill you don't need to go. I'm about to bring emo back if you leave my home. I'm Panic! At the Disco and you'd rather watch a TV. Then I'd squeeze your booty real hard like I'm kneeling dough. Pizza boy, I'm speeding for you. We can get married tonight if you really wanna. Me in a cheap suit like a sleazy lawyer and if you break his lil heart it'll be an honor."

Connor smiled, enjoying it as much as he did the first time.
