Peter got more and more drunk.
He was making unnecessary and offensive comments. The more he drank, the more aggressive he got. Soon, he was offending Troye's family by making jokes about their appearance and what not. He finished a majority of the drinks Troye's dad had brought to the BBQ. Peter earned weird looks as he repeatedly went back for another beer, each time more drunk.

Troye and Connor played tag and hide and seek. They ran around, played with their swords, just being little kids.
They found some crabs, and after playing around with them, they threw them back in the water.
"Here." Troye said, putting a pirate hat on Connor. He adjusted it and smiled saying, "Perfect. You look great, like a real pirate."
Connor smiled, saying, "Thanks mate."
Troye laughed at his use of the word 'mate'. It amused him when he tried change up his vocabulary.
Pretty soon though, they heard yelling. The boys looked at each other and proceed to run to the main barbecue area.

He started putting his hands on people.
When Troye's older brother Steele asked him to calm down, Peter teased him and ruffled his hair.
"Hey, don't touch him." Shaun, Troye's dad, said. "You can drink all you want but I draw the line when you start touching people."
Peter laughed, mockingly exclaiming, "Crikey!" Over and over until he realized no one was amused. "Tough crowd." He mutter, pushing past Shaun for another beer.
"Actually," he said, stepping in front of him. "I change my mind. You've had too much to drink. I'm cutting you off."
"You don't have the right to do that!" Peter said, getting unreasonably angry.
"I do actually." Shaun said calmly.
"Are you calling me a drunk?" Peter accused, shoving his finger in Shaun's face.
Troye and Connor got there in time and broke them up before anything actually happened. Connor was embarrassed, his dad said he promised not to drink. He hated when his dad was like this.
Troye was thinking about Connor, about how he had to deal with his father every day.
Maybe he wasn't like that all the time, Troye thought. Maybe he was just nervous, like I was. Troye was hopeful for his friend Connor.
