Nikki's snoring echoed through the living room. To be fair, it was late. She'd done a lot: cooking, baking, preparing drinks and cleaning up after me and Joe.

"Shh, you'll wake her" I whispered to Joe as he tried to quieten his laughter.

"I can't.... help.... help it" He gasped in between large, loud breaths. I let out a breathy laugh and shook my head. He could be such a twa.t sometimes.

"What's the time?" I asked, searching for a clock.

"Errr, 10:30" Joe replied, chucking my phone towards me.

"I'm so tired" I groaned "Are you staying over? It's really dark and you've been drinking so I don't really want you to drive"

"I can always walk, I don't need to stay" Joe rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's fine, honestly. It's too late for you to walk that far. I'll get some sheets down, Nikki will need some anyway." I said, getting up "And no, you don't have a choice" I caught a glimpse of a smile on his face before exiting the room to go upstairs.
