" now it's three in the morning and I'm trying to change your mind, left you multiple-"
Some fans sing in a chanting manner from the other side of the barricade. The crew begins to urge them to leave but several stay behind trying their best to get a view of anyone or anything familiar.
" Ok ladies, it's time to leave." I approach them with a smile, amused by the adrenaline rushing through them that I can relate to, concerts can bring out the best and worst in a person. As I approach them to continue urging them to leave they turn to gaze at me and one of their faces instantly lights up as she sees me.
" Oh my god-" the unfamiliar but surely ecstatic girl shouts with a grin. "Jocelyn!!!" She screams trying to move closer to me even though the barricade is blocking her movement forward. I smile at her and stop in my spot out of a slight fear. I still haven't become completely comfortable with their fans but I know that this is still my job and at times I will have to deal with wild excited fans with a love for music, like me. The girl continues to try to catch my attention as she waves her hand at me quickly and suddenly with an excited grin. I wave back and she begins to speak to me once again with an excited grin still flashing across her features as she speaks. " how's Matt?" She asks and I smile at the mention of the name.
" Which one?" I ask with a laugh. Part of me instantly thinks of my Matt but I don't want to assume anything, especially since there is a band member named Matt in the concert they just attended.
" Shultz." She says with a light laugh and I laugh as well. It would have been awkward if she had mentioned the Matt in Arctic Monkeys. I barely know him and wouldn't know what to tell her, she seems sweet enough and I wouldn't want to just not answer her question like a total jerk. I begin to approach her once I know she's a cage fan and I stop about a foot away from the barricade. Cage's are usually the sweetest and most lovable fans I've ever met (although I haven't met a whole lot of fan groups). They're all so supportive of the band and everything they do, even when they decided to get into relationships or get married. At first they were difficult to deal with and hadn't adjusted to my company but by now they're as sweet, lovable and supportive for me as they are for the band.
" He's been good." I shrug and an exited smile comes across her face as she tries to withheld her emotions. " You know he's still lame but it's whatever." I shrug jokingly, teasing him once again although I wish he was here to hear me do so. It's usually not as fun when he's not around. She nods her head understanding my humor as her other friends turn away from a crew member telling them to leave. They turn away from the security guard and gaze towards their friend who is staring at me intently. Once they turn away from her friend and gaze at where her attention is set I feel a rush of chills crawl down my spine as their eyes land on me. I'm sure that if looks could kill I would be dead within an instant. The girl turns to look at her friends and clears her throat before speaking to them.
" This is Matt Schultz' best friend." she says and my stomach flutters with butterflies as they mention him and the fact that I have the honor to be his best friend. I still haven't gotten completely use to it and I'm not sure if I ever will. Matt is such a great guy and being able to be friends with somebody that is adored and admired by so many is mesmerizing. On top of simply being a great friend towards me he's a great husband, brother, bandmate, and idol.
" Who?" The two girls ask dumbfounded, before looking at me with another dirty look. I swallow hard and look away from them, wanting to leave this very awkward situation.
" Cage's lead singer, you know the band we saw live last time." She says with a scoff and they nod their heads. They must be the type of 'fans' that go the concerts without knowing much about the band, like their name.
