Last Chapter...
"Mom there's something I gotta tell you..." Sean said voice quiet. "You can tell me anything." A cliche answer she knows, but it was true. She didn't want her son to be scared to open up to her. "Mom... Please don't be mad." "Are you okay? Did you do something wrong?" Sean shook his head. "No I didn't... Mom I'm gay..." Sean looked right into his mom's eyes. Fear was evident in his eyes. Sean's mother opened her mouth to speak. "Honey..."
"Honey, why didn't you tell me?" Sean's mother asked and grabbed his hand. "I wasn't sure about it. I didn't want you to think differently of me ya know?" "Sean you're my son I would never think differently of you."
After dinner Sean went up to his room. He decided to text Asher and tell him the news.
S: hey
A: Hey, what's up?
S: I came out to my mom...
A: How did she take it?
S: She took it really well actually.
A: That's good. Did you tell her that we are dating?
S: No. I'll do it another time.
A: Okay. Well aye I gotta go. I love you.
S: I love you too.Sean tossed his phone on his bed and started doing his homework. About half way through a paper he passed out. When he woke up it was light outside. He checked his phone it was 8 am. Sean jumped out of bed he had over slept. Sean walked to his mom's room she was gone. She must have had to gone to work earlier.
Sean got ready and walked to school, they were already in 2nd period. He walked to class when he entered everyone turned and looked at him. Sean walked to his seat in the back of the room.
Classes went on when lunch came around Asher was sitting in the corner. Sean walked over to the table and sat down. Asher looked up from his phone. "Where were you this morning." Asher asked. "My mom left early and I over slept."
Asher and Sean hung out the rest of lunch. When lunch was over Asher walked Sean to his class. Asher walked down the now empty hall to his next class. "Hey!" "Go away Kevin." Asher rolled his eyes and kept walking. "Tell everyone that I'm not gay." "Then find a way to go back in time and not fucking kiss me then!" Asher spat.
A teacher walked out of her classroom. "Get to class!" The teacher walked back into her classroom. Kevin charged at Asher, taking him to the floor. Asher groaned in pain and threw his elbow back hitting Kevin in the face. Kevin rolled off of him and Asher got up. Kevin got up and swung at Asher. Asher went to dodge it, bit wasn't quick enough and was hit in the jaw.
He held his jaw rage evident in his eyes as he threw Kevin up against a locker beating his face in. Slowly people were flooding out of the classrooms. Teachers were yelling at them , but couldn't make there way through the crowd.
Asher kept hitting Kevin. Someone came up behind Asher and tried to pull him away. Asher swung his arm back and hit the person in the face they fell back. Asher froze and dropped an unconscious Kevin. He turned around slowly and with wide eyes looked at who he just hit. Sean propped up on his elbow held his face, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Sean... I'm so sorry. I... I didn't know it was you." Asher bent down to help Sean up. Sean just smiled. "It's fine." Then he got up and walked away. Asher stood up watching as Sean pushed his way through the crowd.
The principal walked through the crowd sending everyone back to their classes and Kevin to the nurse. The principal grabbed Asher's arm and dragged him to his office.
Sean walked right out the school doors. He couldn't go back to class. Everyone saw him crying. Sean walked to the park he had been a couple nights ago and sat looking into the pond.
He looked at his reflection. His cheek was red and his eyes bloodshot, but he still smiled. Sean stood up and walked. Just walked. He kept walking until he snapped out of his thoughts. He looked around he was on the bridge that was on the nature walk. Sean looked over the edge the river was rippling.
Asher sat in the principal's office waiting for his mom to come and talk with them. Asher's mom arrived. Clearly pissed she sat down next to Asher. The principal told his mother what had happened. She luckily talked the principal out of suspending him, but he had to be to class on time for the rest of the semester.
Asher's mom left and Asher headed back to class. At the end of school Asher waited at the front doors for Sean. When Sean never showed up he headed to Sean's house. Asher knocked on the door and Sean's mom answered. "Hello. Is Sean here." Asher asked. "No he hasn't been here." Asher just whispered a soft thanks and started heading to his house.
Asher tried to call and text Sean, but he never answered. Asher decided to go look for him. Asher started out by looking around town. It started to get dark and he still hasn't heard from him.
Asher turned on his flashlight on his phone and went on the nature walk. Sean sat on the railing of the bridge looking down into the water below. A bright light was being shown on him before he heard running. Next thing he knew he was being pulled off the railing and being held close to someone.
The flashlights ray shown on the strangers face. It was Asher. Sean hugged Asher close. "Sean I am really sorry about earlier I didn't mean to hit you. Please don't say it's fine." "Asher it was an accident, I'm okay." "Why did you leave the school? Why didn't you answer your phone?"
"Too many people saw me cry I was embarrassed. And my phone died hours ago." "You scared me. I didn't know where you went. Why did you come here." Sean just shrugged. Asher squeezed him right one more time. "Let's get you back to your house."
Sean nodded and started walking. He stared down at his and Asher's hands. They were brushing up against each other with ever swing. Sean grasped Asher's hand. Asher smiled and walked Sean to his house hand in hand.
